Morning all.
Edit - he also pointed out that social care had started to be looked at 20 years ago and still nothing substantial had happened - and the Green Paper that was supposed to be out 2 years ago? Anybody's guess...
I heard the interview, and when the interviewer ask "Why aren't British taking these jobs?" - answer "lack of funding - we can't pay them enough and because of that there is no attractive career path we can offer"Janet Royall

Interview @BBCr4today - one care home provider employing 100 staff has lost 5 in the last month, EU nationals who have gone home. Another home with 25 beds only has 16 patients because they don’t have enough staff. Social care crisis exacerbated by Brexit

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

So the big question that we have to answer is...does anyone round here have a leftwing face?

Its intrinsically hilarious, but even more ludicrously he is using it in the context of SOMEBODY WHO PRETENDS TO BE OTHER PEOPLE FOR A LIVING

I'm not going to be so dishonest as to say RIP in this instance, given his (and his brothers) key role in climate change denial propaganda.

Re: Friday 23rd August 2019
One local council byelection yesterday:
Rugby DC - LibDem hold with well over half the vote, though this was down 8 points on May. This ward split 2C/1Lab in the 2012 all-out elections, but the LibDems took all three seats in subsequent years and mostly by big margins (the only exception being Tories getting reasonably close on GE day in 2015) LibDems had their biggest win yet earlier this year and the Tories slipped just behind Labour for the first time - they improved modestly to 20 per cent now (though this is still well down on their previous showings) Labour fell to 10% of the vote, just ahead of a Brexit party candidate (only their third outing at local level) whilst Greens came last with approaching 5%.
Two contests to end the month.
