Also today: The treasurer of the 1922 committee, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP, is now in police custody after a ‘punch-up’ with security.

The Tories have lost their ideology. Now they are merely the party of resentment

Hard to get it out of your head once it's there. Those rhythms and those chord sequences. Still sounds fresh to me.

Credit where it's due I think she did a decent job.

My husband independently came to the same conclusion. This is literally the only sane explanation for Johnson's nonsensical claim to enjoy painting model buses:

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson appears to be strategically using particular words and phrases in speeches and appearances as SEO bait to bury unfavorable news about himself in Google’s search results

Re: Tuesday 1st October 2019
Does Johnson produce favourable news?
Re: Tuesday 1st October 2019
In fact, perhaps he was so embarrassed by the model buses thing that he came up with a real bus policy just to bump it down the Google hit list. I wouldn't put it past him. He treats everything like a game, why not government transport strategy?!

Re: Tuesday 1st October 2019
To be fair "get Brexit done" doesn't necessarily mean exiting the EU on Halloween. Wanting to revoke A50 or another referendum to "settle the issue" can be argued to be that as well.
(though of course I expect Javid didn't mean that)

I'm now looking forward to seeing how Boris works "disposable cups" into a more favourable headline.

Oops.
Patel probably went to have a dig at Corbyn but there are other interpretations of it.

Priti Patel, the home secretary, on whom irony is not lost as she declared: “Here in Manchester, the Conservative party takes its rightful place as the party of law and order in Britain once again.” Just one week ago, the government was found to have unlawfully prorogued parliament....

Apparently the Daily Telegraph - the paper for which the Prime Minister used to write a regular column - has managed to get a copy of the proposal which the Prime Minister will present to the EU. And presumably, at some point, to Parliament.
