Hello tinyclanger2

There was a rare sighting of the lesser-spotted Rees-Mogg in the Bath area recently:

Good morfternoon.
BBC allows Boris Johnson interview on Andrew Marr Show

After terrorist attack broadcaster drops Andrew Neil condition for Marr appearance
Does that mean that the attack will be the sole topic that's allowed to be discussed?

No. Thought not.

I'm hoping that Marr will suddenly feel unwell tomorrow morning, and his place will be taken by Andrew Neil.

Sadly Ronnie, the guy upstairs I had to call an ambulance for on Thursday night, died in hospital a few hours later. He was an alcoholic and heavy smoker and it seems that did for him in the end. He was also a really lovely bloke who'd spent most of his life in the merchant navy so always had a good story to tell. His yarns would change over time as he embellished them but you didn't mind. At lunchtime someone from the council turned up with a social worker and we went through all Ronnies stuff to see if we could find any evidence of next of kin or even a will. But there was nothing. So in all likelehood he'll get a pauper's funeral provided by the council and end up buried in an unmarked communal grave. I'm going to go down to the pub he frequented later to let them know. That's now the second person in this house who has died since I moved in here, if they hadn't both been elderly alcoholics I'd be getting suspicious.

Try to make sure as many of his friends as possible go to the funeral, however it is arranged.

The BBC are making zero sense on this Marr thing.

As PM Boris Johnson can make statements about the London Bridge attack and has been. They've been all over the tv. What has any of this to do with election campaign interviews?

Him “is there anything we can do about that?”

Me “it’s resources for one to one mentoring and deradicalisation”

Him “but that’s money again”

Me “sorry nothing else will do”

Him “got to go”

Good morfternoon.

No. I tried to watch it but couldn't bear it.

I caught some of the Shami Chakrabati bit, though, and thought she made a very measured and dignified contribution (despite Andrew Marr's best attempts to "Express" it up).

I caught a bit of it. Andrew Marr was trying, at least. Didn't follow through enough but pulled him up when he started talking about Corbyn and tried to get it back to him. It was a poor performance from Johnson, even by his standards, seems to be the general view. He has no policies to offer. Sentencing featured a lot, but the Tories have been in power for 9 years, they've made changes to sentencing already. I didn't see the bit on social care but it sounded like a new low, with Johnson claiming there was a general consensus on what should happen but unable to say what that consensus is.

Oh and I wasn't following closely, I'm a bit groggy this morning suffering with sinusitis, but I'm pretty certain Johnson told an outright lie about how his Brexit agreement will affect trade between NI and the rest of the UK, insisting there would be zero paperwork. Indeed, the whole section on the implications of his WA for NI, with Johnson blustering and Marr interrupting to clarify what he was saying was pretty headache inducing. I don't think Johnson is used to his lies being called out to his face, he doesn't seem to know how to handle it. Cameron had an answer to everything, a master bullshitter. Johnson has the awkward, clueless quality of someone peddling someone else's bullshit, if you ask me.

Basically lifted from The Secret Barrister without attribution. But with the last tweet being his own incorrect conclusion.

And even the likes of Hartley Brewer are saying Johnson is a coward if he won't agree to a Neil interview. This one might have cut through just a bit?
