Dial M for Murdoch.
Downing Street has been forced to change its telephone switchboard message after a cabinet minister invited members of the public to ring up to find out the Prime Minister’s diary details. As the Press Association reports, Michael Gove told BBC Radio 5 Live listeners to call Number 10 - and read out the number - after he was asked about the chances of Boris Johnson taking part in an interview with the corporation’s veteran journalist Andrew Neil. (Politics Live, Guardian)
What an idiot.

Hello everyone.

I'm not feeling great today but just seen this.

Jonathan Pie. The angriest I've ever seen him.

It may just be me but Heseltine's voting advice doesn't make sense.

Jonathan Freedland doesn't like the Labour party; I get that. He's free to write what he likes but I think his repetitious rants about a party he's never going to vote for unhealthy. Vote LibDem or form another party. Sod off.

One local council byelection yesterday:

Rhondda Cynon Taff - Labour gain from Plaid Cymru in a straight fight with 55% of the vote, a swing of about 18% since 2017 when Plaid won this single member ward for the first time since it was set up for the 1995 election when it elected Labour unopposed - that never happened again but Labour won every subsequent election until 2012, generally against a sole Plaid opponent with the exception of 2008 when an Independent took the runners up spot. This can thus be seen as a bit of a "reversion to the mean", but given Labour's generally poor showings in S Wales byelections recently they will doubtless be heartened by it nonetheless.

And that's it until the big day, when there will also be 35-odd council vacancies filled. I may provide a brief rundown, perhaps depending on how I feel after the main event.

Here's hoping ;)

Tories chuffed to bits with that.

Told it was seen as the “last big hurdle” of the campaign and senior campaign people are pretty confident Boris knocked it out of the park.
