I'm wondering if that BBC correspondent is being disciplined for going off-script. I hear that she should have said "richly deserved".

If so, it's not loud enough, or public enough.

Yes. Another slip of the tongue, apparently. It's just happenstance that they always benefit the Conservatives.

I don't suppose anyone is wondering, but anyway, the turnout for JC in Middlesbrough was in the low hundreds most likely because it was in a very odd place, not exactly central.
I'd like to think he'd have drawn a few more in the town centre.

I’ve been a loyal Conservative voter. Until very recently, I’d exclusively worked for Conservative-leaning publications: the Telegraph, Mail, London Evening Standard, Express and Spectator. Most of my friends and relations are Conservative. But I cannot vote Conservative tomorrow.

Truly incredible - not a single Conservative is willing to take part. And it is not the first example, across all broadcasters, throughout the campaign. Has a party ever behaved like this in an election before?Chris Grey ajouté,

Re: Wednesday 11th December 2019
I watched and listened to this BBC news person and here are my thoughts. I get the impression BBC and the government are so closely intertwined it hasn't occurred to the news person she's said anything controversial. I've often heard the saying, 'Tories are the natural party of government', or something quite like it; related to this is what I've heard called, 'the Establishment'. It's more than a political party designation, isn't it. Tradition, history, patronage, lends incalculable advantages to the Tory party other UK political parties won't have. I bet they don't even have to talk about it. It's just there, like furniture no one remembers ever not seeing. I doubt we've even seen or heard the BBC news reporter's personal politics; I could be wrong. Please know I'm not making excuses for the BBC news reporter. I don't watch a lot of this stuff, ever. It was the seamlessness of the thing shocking me. This is a bigger problem than we may think, were my among my first thoughts.GetYou wrote:Oh and this just cropped up:

BBC's recent dubbing 'mistakes' are inappropriate editing exercises requiring conscious effort glossing over an acting UK PM's incoherent, disreputable condition during a solemn ceremony. Crowd laughter at Johnson replaced with applause during a political rally was a lot of shit too. BBC, I ask you, what do you care? Constructing a reputable character for a Tory party leader without one isn't worth destroying a credible news organisation. I think it jeopardises the safety of people and nation.

No one, not even his greatest fans, think Boris Johnson deserves to win the election, though he undoubtedly desires it.
I suspect this particular one was, indeed, an unfortunate slip of the tongue. It would be funny if not for the rather less convincing "accidental" edits and general unconscious and not so unconscious bias.

Re: Wednesday 11th December 2019
You're right. The essential message I got from the news reporter was that the BBC works for the Johnson and the Tory party. The shocking easiness in which it was said was disturbing. My long post above is flawed.Willow904 wrote:No one, not even his greatest fans, think Boris Johnson deserves to win the election, though he undoubtedly desires it.

The final acts reveal the character, like my better half 'phoning the lonely elderly as with my dad,a filled in prescription for my mum(memory loss)the final conversation was concern for her if anything happened to him.I regret not openly saying I would support her,but I hope he knew.
