Tory insiders are telling me Boris Johnson could “genuinely be in trouble in #UxbridgeAndSouthRuislip”.
Exit pollsters think the Lib Dem vote has collapsed there probably due to tactical voting for Labour.

Talking of Southampton Itchen, and its majority of just 31, here is a picture of a queue from a polling station there: (Politics Live, Guardian)

Is it election time yet? Anything to save me from this godawful Man Utd match.
Re: Thursday 12th December 2019
The Tories are so excited about the possibility of getting their hands on Bolsover, is it possible they've forgotten to cover their southern rear?
A bit of last minute campaigning for Boris with Uxbridge and Ruislip looking tight. No traditional polite nod through for this sitting PM, and it's no more than he deserves.

Got back half an or so ago from doing what I could - nearly all day - to "get the vote out". Pretty exhausted. We're going to be OK in Stoke Central, I'm pretty sure.
Bless the people who brought all that food for us.
And believe me there many, many Labour members who do this out of an utterly sincere concern for this country and the people in it. Bless them too.
Too tired to engage with it all properly for the moment.

Usually I'd try to say something funny but there's just nothing there besides bleak depression and anger.
My brother just texted me to say 'I now feel like I live in a country full of hostile strangers more than ever' and I can't disagree with him.

The SNP are forecast to get 55 seats.
Which means Ruth Davidson would have to swim naked in Loch Ness.

1992?
That's how far out they're going to need to be. Is it even slightly possible?
In a very volatile, unpredictable election, with the possibility of unusual levels of tactical voting, how good a job have the pollsters done in picking their 114 representative constituencies?
Even so, we're looking at a conservative majority of some size of another. And, tbf, I'm baffled that the same public who refused to give Theresa May a big majority to deliver Brexit have now rewarded Boris with one.

Re: Thursday 12th December 2019
It's a mad exit poll, but exit polls have been pretty accurate for quite a long time. A long night awaits, although I also turned off the tv straight after the announcement.
I'm truly, honestly, not predicting this at all, or pretending things are okay, but it would be particularly sweet for them to end up with no majority again after that big opening. We'll see. Otherwise there's an independent scotland, possibly through an enforced UDI - perhaps we'll also start sending our nations' representatives to jail for representing their people - a much bigger chance of a border poll in NI, and a diastrous mismanaged exit from the EU that sees us pouting for a year and then either falling out to a no-rules WTO situation or just kicking the can yet again. And no excuses for the shits, no 'parliament wouldn't let us', no 'disloyal MPs hate the people'.
None of this is very helpful.

Re: Thursday 12th December 2019
I said a year ago that the opposition may come to regret not voting for Theresa May's deal. This is exactly the kind of disastrous outcome I'd feared. If she'd got through her WA, we'd be in a transition period now with at least a customs union as a backstop, not facing no deal, and May wouldn't have stepped down so Johnson may never have got a chance to take over.
The bollox that is "Get Brexit done" seems to have been disseminated in the water with the same hypnotic effect of "Get my country back". Seriously depressing low levels of political debate and understanding.
Big frustration for me at the moment is that the seat prediction doesn't give a vote percentage. Is this a huge popular vote or precision targeting?
