Re: Thursday 12th March 2020
Budget. Has the magic money tree been found?
Louise Haigh points out local government still facing huge cuts and there being no plan for adult social care after Johnson promised it.
Pete Wishart points out the Tories have wandered into a magic money rainforest.
Steve Barclay blames the previous Labour government for the deficit and claims because of 'difficult decisions' they can now invest. The man's an absolute moron.
And for the entire hour not a single person clapped any of his frankly pitiful efforts.
That has to be the most one sided Question Time I've seen in years.
I'm not talking about left or right, leaver or remainer, just seeing a government minister being treated with utter disdain by an audience. It takes me back to pre-brexit days.

I knew a Kenyan woman who's name was 'Angeena' which could have been spelled like that I guess. Was the reporter black?PorFavor wrote:Surely the BBC South Today reporter who's just been on can't really be called Angina?
Re: Thursday 12th March 2020
No, she wasn't. And the studio presenter pronounced it like the heart condition. They didn't show the spelling.

Boris Johnson positively revelled in telling people that the(ir) end is nigh. Probably thinks his Churchill moment has finally arrived.

Let's have it again.PorFavor wrote:Matt Hancock's lie (from last week's Question Time) pops up again.
(Sorry if you get this twice.)
Matt Hancock, our own Health minister, lied through his teeth about our preparations for a global pandemic.
We had that absolutely confirmed tonight by the bloke from Iceland.
And then we have Steve Barclay claiming a mythical scientific consensus exists and the government are relying on top men like at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
While Johnson is praised for saying some of us will die.
They're fucking winging it.

It obviously doesn't come from the Latin unless you want to call your daughter a strangler, My guesses are either you heard it wrong or she's mixed race and it comes from Swahili.PorFavor wrote:No, she wasn't. Re: Thursday 12th March 2020
Might well have misheard it. It was just on as background burble pre-Question Time.. There was an ad on earlier today when I thought I heard Mark Spitz say that he had aphids. I'm assuming that wasn't what he really said. But who knows- or cares?

Thanks Sky. Too many idiots around handing out useless advice.
Right now, stay in your homes, if you have to go out, have a set of outside clothes, and inside clothes. Wash hands whilst changing over between. Keep separate.
If you can't disinfect items brought into your homes, leave them for at least 24 hours (longer if possible) before touching them.
Dose up on vitamin C. Minimise human contact. Avoid all contact with pets allowed outside the home if possible.
Stay safe.

Re: Thursday 12th March 2020
Unfortunately this is now becoming totally obvious (although, as you know, it was already, if anyone cared to look)
e.g. How many people have grabbed that same hand rail on the bus. No gloves? Oh great.
I've self-quarantined and won't be going out for a while.
Unfortunately there are plenty of people who can't
When do the bin men get issued with hazmat suits? Why not today?

The people who should be prioritised are the people who are most vulnerable, we know who they are because the great British public are able to determine medical conditions at a mere glance.
