It's raining here too. I have some shopping to do this morning so I'm finally going to find out what it's like to queue in the rain, I guess.

Not raining here yet so out for a morning walk instead of an afternoon one.

And RIP Norman Hunter...heard he'd picked up the virus the other day. Wonder how many sendings off he'd pick up in the modern game?

My husband is having to work extra hours. It seems like about two thirds of the drivers are off ill, isolating or furloughed because of underlying conditions. And that's running a reduced bus service. He's shattered.

One for the "I'm shocked, shocked that Boris would try and do such a thing!"

Boris Johnson In ‘Jobs For The Boys’ Row Over Plan To Give Top Commons Post To Ally

https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/ ... k-politics
The ‘super-committee’, which is the only committee with the power to summon the prime minister before it, is made up of chairs of 37 different select committees and since 2010 has chosen its own chair from among its members.

But there is growing anger among Labour and even some Conservative MPs that Downing Street will use a whipped vote next Wednesday to effectively pick who is in charge of the body tasked with grilling the PM directly three times a year.

Unlike other committee chairmen, Sir Bernard would not be elected in a secret ballot but would instead be simply installed by a government motion, backed by a three-line whip.

Whatever happened to HindleA's homing pigeon friend in recovery? The one he sent looking for me a couple years ago? "Three shandies my arse," HindleA muttered at Larry, who staggered in without having made it out of town.

Gavin Newsom
@GavinNewsom
NEW: CA has 27,528 confirmed positive cases of #COVID19.
3,180 of those cases are in our hospitals. 1,174 of those are in the ICU.
CA is flattening the curve -- but we MUST continue to take this seriously.
Stay home.
Practice physical distancing.

I think physical distancing describes the objective more clearly than does social distancing.

In this country if say Yaxley Lennon encouraged an armed far right protest to ignore public health measures and block essential traffic going to and from hospitals in the middle of a pandemic there would be a national outcry and calls for him to be strung up.

In the U.S he'd have the support of the President and a major news network.

He was an easy to get on with, non-judgemental, happy to oblige, funny, daft, irritating, pig headed, lovely person and I'm so glad I knew him.

How is it fair that he's dead when there are so many arseholes in this world?

I was so sure he was with his mum.

I can't stop crying.
