The Minnesota State Patrol arrested a CNN reporter reporting live on television early Friday morning while covering the Minneapolis protests, without giving any reason, and led him and three crew members away in handcuffs.

Reporter Omar Jiminez had just shown a protester being arrested when about half a dozen white police officers surrounded him.

“We can move back to where you like,” he told the officers wearing gas masks and face shields, before explaining that he and his crew were members of the press. “We’re getting out of your way.”

Asked whether refusing to do so for safety reasons would be seen as a breach of contract, Johnson’s spokesman stressed what he said was “a cautious and phased return” of pupils, but indicated this was up to individual schools. He said:

"Headteachers, I am sure, will be having conversations with their own staff in the usual way."

Doesn't answer the question at all does it?

Likewise yesterday when Johnson was asked about how people were expected to isolate if asked by track and trace teams if it means two weeks without pay, especially as some may be asked more than once. He didn't answer at all. It supposedly started yesterday, yet they can't answer the most basic of questions about how it will all work.

The NEU have at last started to be properly useful, I have to say, and I'm writing again to school this afternoon. Essentially I shouldn't be expected to get on the train at the moment when it's clearly a significantly heightened risk and there's nothing I can do at school that I can't do at home just as well, and added to that (aside from the 'being off sick with stress and anxiety' thing) is that if I do get on the train I will have to self isolate at home, and we are four adults in a 3 bedroom house with 1 bathroom and (obviously) 1 kitchen, and there is nowhere else I could stay, and there is nowhere else my children could stay, and the only way I could isolate in an attempt to be safe would be to be out all of the time except to sleep, so if I go in for two mornings as a supernumerary adult to supervise, I won't be able to to do any other work and would also probably be off with stress and anxiety (and exposure) before very long. We'll see. This is all entirely straightforward and true although I really hate how this discussion with school feels likes moves in a game.

I think it is clear that a lot of schools *aren't* going to reopen on Monday, and even with those that *do* far from all pupils and teachers will attend.

I hate to say this but one of the biggest problems this lockdown has caused is attracting morons to our urban woodlands.

I volunteer at one nearby and was venturing in to meet a friend for a drink when I came across three idiots who'd lit a huge fire under an Oak that's age has more digits than their IQ. Such was my indignant rage I confronted them and asked them to put it out pointing out we've had one day of rain in three months so everything's tinder dry. I maintain my language was diplomatic at all times and any accusation that I called them 'stupid fucking cunts' is something we should all move on from. Two of them I'd say were in their late twenties while the other looked to be in his early forties and they were all pissed with bottles and cans strewn about. The two younger ones responded with abuse while the older one threatened me with a portion of fallen tree branch. So I retreated and called for back up. Within 20 minutes I had 3 other volunteers and the friend I'd been going to meet for a drink as a posse and we went to confront them. The two younger lads scarpered almost immediately but the older guy was so off his face he decided to take us all on and was waving this branch around until A* who is about 6'4 and looks like Thor nonchalantly took it off him. We then escorted him to the nearest road and told him to fuck off and not come back.

But he did come back. After this I settled down to have a drink with my friend and after about an hour we heard a load of noise and went to investigate and it was the same three dickheads, this time they were trying to destroy a fence we'd made out of branches to hold mulch. Perhaps as some kind of bizarre revenge.

Now I am not a hard man, like any sane person violence and pain disagree with me, but by this point these guys could barely stand so my friend and I decided they were of minimal threat and chased them off on our own.

One of the younger ones kept running to a distance before shouting that he'd fucked our mothers. Which is possible in my case but highly unlikely and my friend's mother is dead.

“I have no idea whether we’ve got adequate testing [for track and trace] because we just don’t have enough information,” she said. “We should know how many people have been tested, why they’ve been tested, where they’ve been tested, who has done the test, the test results. We haven’t got those figures.”

When experts recommend wearing masks, staying at least six feet away from others, washing your hands frequently and avoiding crowded spaces, what they’re really saying is: Try to minimize the amount of virus you encounter.

A few viral particles cannot make you sick — the immune system would vanquish the intruders before they could. But how much virus is needed for an infection to take root? What is the minimum effective dose?

Interesting, so all measures useful: washing hands, packaging, distancing etc, but overriding aim would be to limit total exposure,
also makes good case for wearing face masks.

We were told by Matt Hancock that the 'test, track and trace' system would be in place in mid May. Steve Barclay when challenged on Question Time a couple of weeks ago said it would be after that weekend. Then Johnson claimed we would have a 'world beating' system by next Monday.

Now it turns out the whole fucking thing won't be properly up and running until the end of June.

If it ever works at all, because I'm not putting anything on my phone designed by these clowns and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Especially not with Dido Harding involved.

For a start I have my green Carte Vitale which every GP district nurse hospital dentist plugs into the system and then channels payment from the Social Security and my backup insurance to the respective GP etc.

If i have symptoms i call my GP and he sends me off 18kms to the nearest path lab where they test you out in the street . Results in the lab are three hours (according to the local press) , so my GP will have them on his computer as he does with any of my regular blood tests from the same lab.

We've compared oximeters so he knows I can monitor myself before screeching for help if I have the Happy Hypoxia where you think you're normal , with NO breathlessness probs but feeling rough obviously .... but the O2 level is going to unprecedented low levels.

There is a tracing team of at the mom 20 career professionals in Saint Lô, another coming in Cherbourg. I won't have much to tell them because I live alone and rarely go out.
