Compared to Labour's recession and record deficits just over a decade ago, this government has strongly supported families and businesses during this emergency, thanks to a decade of fixing the economy. We still have challenging times ahead and we will get through this together.
I heard another tory using this line on Sky News just now and wondered how on earth he'd come up with it, now I know, it's the No 10 'line to take'.

Even by their standards it's astonishing. Truth twisters indeed.

Is it deliberate that every single phrase is a provocation, so that you don't know which to address first?
Probably.

Well, the reason it'll be !squeezed" is that that GDP is dropping through the floor.

If they mean "look to ensure that every penny is spent efficiently and effectively", then why haven't they been doing this up to now?

Coffey getting ratio'ed on her "let them eat cake" attitude on poor kids and school dinners is good to see tho.

Certain people trying to make tiresome anti-Starmer jibes out of this is trying my patience, though.

I mean, he only majored on it at last week's PMQs and had a Labour HoC motion ready for today.......

I wouldn't want to diss Rashford's political awareness but he may not have known about the issue without Labour raising it.

I think he is fairly aware for a footballer tbf, and may well have known about it through his own contacts.

But people trying to pretend Labour said nothing about this do themselves no credit.

Undeniable that the media take more notice of one Premier League footballer than the Labour Party, though.

Yes, but the fault there is overwhelmingly with the media.

I was curious about this and someone had picked up on a tweet from Rashford on the evening of 10 June. He got a long response from Jolyon Maugham!

Will someone explain please ?

I don’t know whether merging DFID into the Foreign Office is a good idea or not. But I am certain that bureaucratic tinkering is the LAST thing the government should be doing in the middle of a pandemic, when grappling with an economic crash and negotiating a new deal with the EU

TC2 ---- I had a look bt apparently not a good one :)

I'd like to add, re that YT, that very often Starmer has made several powerful statements in the HoC which have been either ignored or at least downplayed by the meedja and even on one particular case by M.Crace . FFS !

That was last week's PMQ's when Johnson repeated his LIE about replying to SKS's letter, and SKS became rather bloody angry with the tousled shithead .

We all draw up our own B/S 's on public figures, pro / con .

Johnson -- no redeeming features, EXCEPT that to survive he might adopt and implement all the Green and Lab and SNP's better policies just to stay in office . I'm almost Not Joking on that .

Starmer PRO -- lifestory , origins, pro bono for McLibel over many years ( probly more but that's what I know, Oh -- he's also recognisably an adult )

The CONs -- ( for me ) Signed immediately the Israel Lobby's Ten Demands when he was postulating for LOTO . As did RLB and Nandy. Emily signed later, and Clive I'm sure would not have done .

I was bloody ANGRY on that. After a bit thought again ................... IF SKS is an idiot he believed JC and the LP were AS , which is unlikely, cough ! SO, becoming a politician ... he gave away a chess-piece to the dastards he obviously does not LIKE, to shut them up .

Possible ? I believe it's probable.

CPS -- he probably has some skellies in that cupboard, people who should/should not have been prosecuted ; not fighting hard enough against Tory Cuts ?

I walked to Leeds city centre this afternoon as I had no choice but to go to the bank, it's the first time I've been in the city since before the lockdown. I was expecting to see quite a few people about with the shops now open but besides a few masks it was like an ordinary Tuesday afternoon, crowds of folk milling about the streets with little to no thought given to social distancing. It was like trying to navigate through a constantly shifting maze of potential disease mixed with a scary fairground ride where virus ridden zombies suddenly loom out at you. What were they buying that was so important? There was a queue to get into TK Maxx for fuck's sake. Is it really worth risking your life or health for cheap shoes? Apparently so. This world won't end with a bang or a whimper, it'll be the sound of the last two idiot humans fighting over a pair of Ralph Lauren jeans that claim to have 70% off the RRP.

Thought I'd share this as I'd never seen it before. They're Peacock butterfly caterpillars in a nettle patch at the back of the garden. I found them yesterday and overnight they've grown spikes. I think I might be in love.

I thought I'd heard of Tim Dawson before...

The only person named on Britain’s Future’s website, Facebook page, and Twitter account is Tim Dawson, the editor. Dawson is a 30-year-old freelance writer who lives in Manchester. He had a sitcom on BBC Three in the late 2000s and has written occasionally for the Daily Telegraph; he’s an active supporter of the Tories on social media but has little experience in frontline politics.

Unlike other campaign groups, Britain’s Future doesn’t appear to have a corporate structure behind it. It does not seem to have a board governing it. There’s no record of an associated company at Companies House. It doesn’t seem to be registered with the Electoral Commission or the Information Commissioner. There is no known physical address. It’s not clear whether it has any staff.
Don't you just love it when fucking little scrotes like this lecture others on the use of public money when they conceal where every single penny they get comes from. A third of a million pounds this specimen spent on Brexit Facebook ads and we have absolutely no idea whether he found it in a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow or got it from a Russian oligarch or Rees-Mogg's pocket money. And isn't insisting those richer than you pay for things supposed to be Socialism and the politics of envy? Apparently not if you're Tim and a young black lad brought up by a single mother earns more than you. Everything about him is detestable. Utterly stinkingly repulsive.
