Re: Friday 7th August 2020
Was looking back to try to find our first mention of all of these goings-on - I might have missed a link out to a story but so far as I can see...
January 31st, on leaving the EU...
January 31st, on leaving the EU...
What happened on 31st January? It was the day of the obvious end point of dangerous contagion, with consequences we still can't understand and the need for next steps that we still simply haven't grasped.
Oh, and the coronavirus arrived.
I still believe in a town called Hope

Morning all. Off for a swim in a while...
I did enjoy Andy Burnham's slapdown of Tory MPs in his area...reminding them that it was their own government who made the decision last week about the lockdown...oops!

Lindsey Hulsom, speaking about Beirut on C4 News:

We think we're better at govt than Lebanon or the USSR but Grenfell demonstrates that we're not."This was an accident in the way that Chernobyl was an accident - it's not that there are one or two people who are responsible, but a whole system of corruption and negligence."

Govt is bunging £200m at NI for a Trader Support Service to do the paperwork for goods moving between NI and GB for 2 years.
This is the paperwork that Johnson said wouldn't be needed.
Thread by Peter Foster, who else.

Which reminds me of an old 1970s joke from The Two Ronnies:
"Political leaders have been returning from their travels abroad - Jim Callaghan came back from China and held up some china, Denis Healey came back from Thailand and held up some ties, and Margaret Thatcher came back from Nicaragua and held up the traffic"

A typical right wing Tory loyalist really isn't happy...10 years of a Tory government.

Day by day I’m losing my love 4this country, even under a Tory government.Corbynistas, illegal migrants, media anarchists, left wing education, weak policing, degraded military, BLM propaganda, violent crime, religious subjugation. Sick of it. Pouting face

Of course, several of that type are not happy about BoJo "giving in" to the "scandemic" as some of them like to call it.

Sad to see this from my recently former MP and lovely local comrade.

I submitted evidence in good faith that it would be confidential and to ensure that the described behaviour would never happen again in Labour. If it has been leaked, I will need to leave my Party after 40+ years

It looks like UK temperatures didn't "set new records" today after all. Tomorrow looks set to be another scorcher, though......frog222 wrote:14° earlier !
