Still has to pass the Lords and the Government can't overturn it since the WA was in the manifesto - the Lords can rightly say that they are upholding what was voted for last year.

I'm not sure I've seen this level of incompetence so early into a Government's term of office - usually it takes a few years.

It usually takes a few years because the govt of the day is trying to be competent.

Some of those Tory MPs may or may not be keeping their powder dry for later, but as ever its a case of "believe it when you actually see it".

A reminder that May didn't have that many more scruples than Johnson, when push came to shove.

If you live in London and put a postcode into the booking system for Aberdeen you are offered a test in London. Gaming the system seems to be the way to get a test. How has it come to this?

Those Tory MPs who are repressing qualms of conscience to follow their leader as he tramples over Britain’s reputation as a law-abiding state might ponder how likely it is that their loyalty will ever be reciprocated. They must have noticed how casually the breach of trust was made, how unburdened Johnson is by the gravity of what he is doing. That is because he is a natural swindler who breaks promises effortlessly. He will reward his most faithful servants with betrayal too, one day.

I still find it amazing that he was elected PM by the party who know full well his somewhat chequered history.
