Pupils reminded to stick to the rule of six

Parents, carers and pupils from across Bath and North East Somerset are being reminded to walk to and from school or bus stops in groups of no more than six and to maintain social distancing, following the introduction of the new restrictions on social gatherings earlier this week.
....before undoing all their good work by cramming on a packed, poorly ventilated bus with zero social distancing in mixed "bubbles"...

Telling people they have to socially distance in small groups in their own time but it's perfectly safe to mix in much larger groups at work or school is not likely to go down well with anyone. Mostly, though, I'm struggling to see how it'll make much difference. The odd private party is hugely outnumbered by evenings at a pub or restaurant, for most people, surely?

That Dodds was really WET on Toady this morning .

PPE --- plenty of powerful things to say, which even WE all know ... she did not. PestFix anyone ?

T & T ---- can't remember what she waffled ... does she know that hospitals are forbidden to use local private labs for testing???? That one came out last week, in the Indy. And that Typhoid Dido has recruited hundreds of 'consultants' from Deloitte & Friends to shore up her rickety biznesss ? Also last week.

Care homes throwing away swabs when no one comes to collect them !!!!!

Continuing the wetness theme , off for a sauna & swim !

Yeah, it's so much horseshit from government leadership I've taken to growling because screaming is out. Even with the mask I'd be increasing the chances of my sending particulates into others' atmosphere. It'd be irresponsible to scream.

Today I'll set out Labour's steps to a better, more secure future for Britain: Recover Jobs, Retrain Workers, Rebuild Business.
New leadership so people can have hope for the future with a government they can trust, not one which plays political games.

Not forbidden, limited in how much they can reclaim from central govt for tests. They can test as many as they want using their own lab and their own budget.

No disagreement here about Dodds.

Yes, it has to be said that some "online left" people can slip into casual misogyny rather too easily.

One thing pretty much everybody on here can agree about is that Laura K is awful - but that *still* doesn't justify some of the abuse she gets.

I mean, why lie about such a thing?

You might do if disseminating was your default state, though.

“This means that, for a clear set of deliverables, there is a maximum budget, with funding up to that maximum for the actual costs NHS providers incur.”

It warned: “NHS providers who have not been commissioned to deliver the service should not establish testing without formal approval and will not be able to access funding to reimburse costs incurred from establishing testing unapproved by the DHSC NHS Test and Trace service.”

While some NHS pathology labs have been formally commissioned to carry out Covid-19 testing, other hospitals have turned to their own testing to make sure staff and patients are not left waiting too long.

The turnaround time for NHS testing is significantly faster than the centralised Lighthouse Labs, which have seen turnaround performance collapse with just 33 per cent of test results being returned within 24 hours.

How COVID-19 Spreads
Updated Sept. 21, 2020
A draft version of proposed changes to these recommendations was posted in error to the agency’s official website. CDC is currently updating its recommendations regarding airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). Once this process has been completed, the update language will be posted.

The CDC has stepped away from explicitly stating CV19 is spread through aerosol transmission. The implications for public health policy response are huge.

Matt Hancock was just asked by Dr Rupa Huq, Labour MP why the UK were not prescribing Vitamin D when research has show vitamin D helps against COVID-19.

Matt Handcock replied research he commissioned had shown vitamin D didn’t help.
Here is a comment from BMJ recently:
Rapid Response:
Re: Should countries aim for elimination *of host susceptibility * in the covid-19 pandemic?

Dear Editor
Once again we see an analysis that focuses upon the coronavirus and not the host. Both SAGE and iSAGE appear to live in a world devoid of knowledge of the profound effects of the secosteroid hormone D3 upon our immune defences, both innate and adaptive. To cut to the quick (because I am getting bored repeating the message), the latest clinical trial in Cordoba showed a dramatic 25-FOLD reduction in severity of COVID-19 following oral administration of a bolus of 25(OH)D3. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7456194/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This dramatic result was not unexpected by those of us who are familiar with Schwalfenberg's "D3 hammer": https://www.cfp.ca/content/61/6/507.long" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . The doses used are similar. There already exists an extensive research base implicating D3-deficiency in COVID-19: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm ... id=3669379" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
By physiological criterion of serum 25(OH)D =100 to 150 nmol/L (the level achieved as a matter of routine by Schwalfenberg's patients) a very high percentage of the human population are deficient. A highly cogent argument can be made that the virus is exploiting this gap in our defences. That gap that can be rapidly closed, both cheaply and safely. Cost: a few pence per day per person.

I first met that 'health professional' term when the Evil DWP outsourced vetting the sick and disabled to private enterprise . Here you get seen by DOCTORS in similar cases ... and of course they are not obliged to reject a percentage of you to save money/meet tagets .

I noticed on CiF a comment on how difficult it is to get what in France Germany ETCETC would be a routine blood or other test .

My sister and family had a nasty mouth/tongue infection some time ago, and hers lasted for ages -- " no you can't have a swab done, it costs £25 ." ' From a 'nurse practitioner' .
