Man arrested over leak of Kim Darroch cables criticising Trump

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... sing-trump" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A man has been arrested in connection with the leak of highly sensitive cables sent to London by the UK ambassador to Washington savaging Donald Trump’s character and leadership skills.

The man, believed to be a civil servant at the Department for International Trade, was arrested on Tuesday after a 15-month inquiry appeared to have gone cold.

Lord Darroch was forced to quit as ambassador in July 2019 after his confidential cables criticising Trump’s chaotic presidency and claiming he radiated insecurity were leaked. The US president said he would no longer cooperate with Darroch, and Boris Johnson, at the time a Conservative leadership candidate, refused to give the ambassador his full backing.
That was hardly a surprise.

In a report I saw about this at the weekend the headline wrote it as 'civil servant' which made me wonder whether it was a SpAd.

Johnson is now "letting it be known" that he wouldn't mind Biden winning. Trump has put even him off, it would appear.

Boris Johnson is merely hedging his bets.

It's called backing the winner - Murdoch's papers were past masters at it.

Well if there is one thing he is no stranger to, its opportunism.

Liz Truss.

This must be the biggest load of bollocks yet.

The Board will advise the government and DIT on its trade strategy, provide intellectual leadership on trade policy, and help Britain make the case for free and fair trade across the world.

Would someone please tell Liz Truss and the Intellectuals that there's only one "t" in "combating"?

Contact tracing, testing, and speed of reopening differed dramatically between #NewYork and #Madrid.

New York opened the economy without overwhelming the hospitals and confirmed its credentials as a serious place to do business.

By simply doing what experts say since March.

More good election news today, from Bolivia this time. I hope all those "liberals" who cheered on last year's coup there are suitably embarrassed.
