What is this crap?
Quizzed about why neither man was wearing a face covering, the health secretary, Matt Hancock, told Sky News: “They are socially distanced, and the critical thing is, of course, as prime minister you do meet people.”
The Guardian Today newsletter: the headlines, the analysis, the debate – sent direct to you

Pressed on the absence of masks, Hancock eventually said they were not always worn around No 10. Asked if he used one when there, he said: “Not always, no, because the Covid-secure guidelines for that building don’t require it at all times. Different workplaces have different rules, according to what is appropriate there.”
Yeah, the virus knows which building it's in and behaves accordingly. Particularly one which has a high throughput of different people. Fuckwits.

Before Brexit, more and more stories of congestion causing delays at Felixstowe.

Felixstowe Port in 'chaos' as Christmas and Brexit loom
Part of the problem is a shipment of 11,000 containers of PPE ordered by the government that is clogging up the port.

Tucked away at the end of the BBC report is the real explanation.
Two months ago, the former Transport Secretary Chris Grayling was hired to advise the port's parent company Hutchison Ports Europe, which is based in London. The register of MPs' financial interests shows he's being paid £100,000 for "around seven hours" of work per week.

is the function of the Today Programme to publicly air every theoretical objectionable viewpoint of every awful person in the country??
How brilliant is that line?

Radio 4 speaking about Lewis Hamilton’s public political positions “people might see this as just publicity-seeking virtue-signalling” uh...
How can it be "virtue-signalling" when you're talking about something that's affected yourself directly? Or are they suggesting that motorsport wasn't an almost exclusively white sport, dominated by the better off, rather like golf, when he started out as a working class, black kid in karting? That he hasn't faced hurdles others don't because of his race throughout his career? Or is it, having faced all that and succeeded anyway, and been allowed in "the club", considered bad form to talk about the hoops he's had to jump through to get there and want to make things easier for those following in his footsteps?

Un-friggin-believable.

I'm glad I don't listen to it anymore.

Today programme no better with Humphrys gone, then.

The 'virtue signalling' bit is infuriating, but the 'publicity seeking' bit is ludicrous.

He's only the most successful racing driver in history.

Someone on twitter just described Hancock as half man, half weasel.

I've just been watching the Good Morning Britain clips and he was certainly living down to that description.

You could almost imagine some of them gasping "I blame the Democrats" with their final breaths.

Not sure how I feel about this. It seems that Belgium's "living museum of the potato" also houses a collection of onions. Tubers and bulbs IN THE SAME MUSEUM?
