It's really quite amazing, the vaccine being good to go. I'm impressed.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
The coronavirus pandemic has brought immense disruption to our world, destroying lives and livelihoods. But it is also reminding us that there are some challenges we cannot tackle alone. Limiting the spread of the virus has required everyone to act collectively to make life safer for all of us.

This holds true for the other great crisis the world faces – untamed levels of greenhouse gas emissions that are already bringing increasingly dangerous consequences. Our climate challenge is a shared global challenge – and it is largely an energy challenge. Energy accounts for over two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions.

This means energy must be at the heart of any solution.

Second vaccine recipient was apparently one William Shakespeare - 2B or not 2B, you might almost say.

A BBC presenter "corrected" Angela Eagle earlier when she suggested Boris Johnson's 'oven ready deal' was anything but.

"Oh, 'oven ready' referred to the withdrawal agreement" was the presenter's (rather aggressive) reproof.

Quite how an agreed and completed deal is 'oven ready' rather than, you know, already cooked and ready to eat, I have no idea. And quite why no one thought to correct the trillion journalists who have been referring to the quote as meaning the upcoming trade deal all blummin year is equally baffling to me if this was, indeed, the case. Certainly Angela Eagle was somewhat stumped by this novel assertion and no doubt wondering if she'd just been dropped into a parallel universe or something.

This has to be a line fed direct to the Beeb from No 10, surely? Nothing else makes sense. Rather like the presenter.

Just for balance, though, the BBC coverage of the new vaccine has been good. Lots of science, expert opinion, full explanations and information. The question and answer sessions have been useful and the woman who volunteered for the trials made for a nice, uplifting interview. A real counter to the bitterness and insularity of Brexit.

It's the line all the rent-a-gob ERG types are spinning, certainly. It's hard to see any hope for us while the journos/presenters are so quick to take it on board.
US TV may be rubbish in general but you don't have to watch CNN for long to be taken aback by their readiness to call bullshit.

Tory spokespeople were trialing the "oven ready deal only meant the withdrawal agreement AND NOTHING ELSE" line yesterday morning.

The overall impression seemed to be that it didn't go down all that well. So maybe number 10 has leant on the BBC for a bit more "enforcement".

Going back to the culpability of the MSM.

Attached to the tweet is a clip of Ian King on Sky News with a director of Logistics UK, expressing astonishment about all the things we haven't done yet. Knowledgeable people have been banging on about this stuff for months, if not years.

Quite extraordinary when you think about it...I’ve developed and installed IT systems in several countries and I can tell you categorically this is going to be a huge disaster not only for the businesses affected by this gross negligence but the economy of the entire UK.

The promise of a new car plant in that area may have helped the Tories win Bridgend from Labour in the GE a year ago. To say this is whiffy is understating things.

I sometimes forget that I have a Twitter account where I look at Edu stuff...

Oh, and that Tories are blatantly lying about funding for schools...

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It might well be a case that they've used the wrong word "by" instead of "to" and it only relates to secondary schools but they still haven't deleted the tweet.
