It's quite disturbing where the lies and psychological manipulation employed by Trump's backers has led. The woman who was shot was one of the Qanon believers. She thought she was saving America from a paedophile conspiracy. Her journey from Obama voter, through Hilary Clinton "pizzagate" credulity to full-fledged belief that the entire Democratic Party are a paedophile cabal is the same as I have been hearing related by my hairdresser whose sister lives in New York. If I hadn't heard this stuff first hand I probably wouldn't believe a regular person could be sucked in by such batshit crazy stuff but the reality is that the people behind it really know what they're doing and after Trump's gone they're still going to be out there, manipulating people through social media to who knows what ends, and that isn't a very comforting thought.The Journey of Ashli Babbitt
