An investigation was launched when a member of public complained after reading a Guardian report that the head of the judiciary had admonished Freud and five MPs for seeking to influence a judge overseeing a hearing about the release of the references.
Freud and the MPs – Sir Roger Gale, Adam Holloway, Bob Stewart, Theresa Villiers and Elphicke’s estranged wife Natalie – have also been referred separately to the standards commissioner by the Labour MP Helen Hayes. The outcome of that complaint is yet to be known.

Yes, but all the reliable accounts of the past year suggest he has been the chief "just let the virus rip" ideologist in the cabinet.

The front page of the S** tomorrow 'covid vaccine offers 2/3 protection in just 1 jab and could lead to end of lockdown'.
This sums up the mindset leading to the worst death stats in the world, to me. Never mind less fewer people getting sick and dying, the important thing is to end lockdown.
The answer to 'uncaring or incompetent' is that they don't care enough to take the trouble to be competent.
