Good morfternoon.
In addition, if the predicted inflation rise takes place, these people will be in receipt of a pay-cut.
This has been obvious since the Budget announcement, but it's good to see it articulated in public.General secretary Frances O’Grady said:
“After years of real-terms pay cuts, the Government’s latest offer is a hammer blow to staff morale.
“This boils down to political choices. Ministers have chosen to spend hundreds of millions on outsourcing our failed Test and Trace system and dodgy PPE contracts, but they have chosen not to find the money to give nurses, paramedics and other NHS workers fair pay.” (Politics Live, Guardian)
In addition, if the predicted inflation rise takes place, these people will be in receipt of a pay-cut.

Local council byelections have resumed this week after a few fallow months.
Two in Scotland - a pair of vacancies for North Lanarkshire - and both were Labour *gains*.
(yes, you read that correctly)

Am thinking of protesting against having to wear a seatbelt.
Or a crash helmet.
Or clothes.
OK not the last one.

I think Nicolas Cage might have just fried my brain.
Mandy
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6998518/
Mandy involves a deranged hippy cult, a sadomasochistic biker gang that look like something from Hellraiser, and Nicolas Cage going on an insane violent rampage of revenge after screaming on the toilet in his underpants. It's heavily influenced by 70's fantasy artwork and shot in a dark psychotically psychedelic style that's utterly relentless.
Did I enjoy it? I've honestly no idea. It was cerainly an experience. I can only hope it's done no lasting damage.

Yup brain definitely fried. I was going to say my Mum knitted me a Larry the lamb puppet in the 70's but that didn't strike me as being entirely correct, and sure enough upon further reflection it was Lambchop. A narrow escape from total humiliation.tinyclanger2 wrote:touch of the larry the lamb there

I notice they're criticisng this as a misuse of Tory Party funds. Did they have an equally outraged front page about the the public paying even more money to cover up Patel's behaviour?RogerOThornhill wrote:Mail criticizing Tories? Blimey.

You know there's a term for that kind of behaviour. Now what is it? Something about three goats living under a bridge in Norway. I think they attack some innocent monster for no reason when it's trying to cross. Which seems kind of senseless. Maybe they were just jerks.tinyclanger2 wrote:I was confident someone would be appalled.

Here's the list of All Tomorrow's Parties covers from which I obtained the above.
https://secondhandsongs.com/performance/128
Most of those I've tried are terrible but the Simple Minds one from 2001 is clearly in the lead for outstanding awfulness.
Appalling doesn't even remotely do it justice and if I ever meet Jim Kerr his unfortunate accident is going to have to involve his generative organs as a result. I'd post it here but I bear none of you enough ill will.

I reckon Mike Flowers takes more drugs than Nico ever did. It's the only explanation.
Not heroin though, I suspect Lemsip Max Strength or possibly Night Nurse.
