No, but I've read the G blog. :oops:

It's on ITV tonight, I've no intention of watching it.

Dr Jenny Harries, the deputy chief medical officer, is set to become head of the National Institute for Health Protection (NIHP), the UK’s new pandemic fighting unit
Govt pick the least reassuring face of the pandemic response to take it forward.

You could say she's played a blinder.

There were murmurings she was one of the most pro-government, too.

https://labour.org.uk/bright-future-taskforce-2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Labour’s Bright Future Taskforce will develop a national strategy to ensure all children recover the learning and social development lost during the pandemic and have the chance to reach their full potential.
Can't help but feel education doesn't really need "new ideas". We already know what works - smaller class sizes being an obvious one, for instance. And lots of those good ideas have already been brought in by Labour in the past with some success, especially in London. In other words, the Tories are what's wrong with education, and getting rid of them is easily the best thing Labour can do for the prospects of young people.

Still, it can't do any harm I guess. Focusing on education worked for Tony Blair, after all.

Like so many who pontificate about the "red wall", he has never lived there or even visited for meaningful periods of time.

OK if this is what watching Pointless conjures in the Clanger brain i shall be giving it a wide berth.

And I don't even know if it was, indeed, Pointless.

Unbeknown to me the singer of Sailor is called Prince Georg Johan Tchegodaieff (of Norway) and was born on the either 9 June or 9 February depending on which Wikipedia entry you read.

Following on from the education theme above:

https://www.theguardian.com/education/2 ... -to-school" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Once the children have had some time, she says, the school will look at where they are at in terms of maths, English and other core subjects and decide what extra support is needed to “fill any gaps” created by this lockdown.
Might that include longer days and shorter holidays, as proposed by the education secretary on Sunday? Roberts is not sure that is the answer. Button Lane ran after-school catchup sessions for some students during the autumn term. Teachers found that students, particularly the younger ones, were too tired for the sessions to be very meaningful. “So I’m not sure what the answer is, really; there’s definitely an opportunity to look at what’s really needed in the curriculum”.
You could probably jettison pretty much everything introduced by Michael Gove without much loss I imagine. Certainly most people educated prior to 2010 have managed to get through life without knowing the term "fronted adverbial". The ability to use the English language isn't reliant on the ability to label it.
