Former Met Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson has come out today to back Shaun Bailey's mayoral campaign. He says Sadiq Khan has not been a mayor "who owns the problem [of violent crime], shows leadership and supports our police".

This means, as far as No 10 are concerned, Hoyle will not get his clarification. This is an unexpected twist. At PMQs, Johnson said Starmer "voted against the document in question", after Starmer had just waved a copy of the NHS budget, and made no mention of Queen's speech.

Matt Hancock claims there are no plans to shut schools due to #COVID19
This is a contradictory from previous statements. If strict isolation rules are applied, schools would be forced into difficult decisions, impossible staff planning & chaotic closures.

We have found no grounds for regulatory action against the National Trust. However, we welcome the charity’s ongoing commitment to learning lessons and taking into account diverse opinions within its membership and society.

Of all of the Labour NECs I have attended today’s was the most depressing.
The motion to recall conference was refused, no vote taken.
When @LauraPidcock
questioned how this could be explained to members Margaret Beckett called her a “silly cow”.
Truly shocking.

Fascinating in some ways to see someone so convinced in his own knowledge that it never occurs to him that maybe he might be wrong...people like this won't ever be satisfied.Save Our Statues - Robert Poll

Who regulates the regulators?
Earlier we had Bristol Police praised for their bystander "policing" & now we have
@ChtyCommission
saying
@nationaltrust
did not breach guidelines with its political witch-hunt. It seems the wokes' "long march" through the institutions is complete.
