Good morning.
Oh look, another one...
Second Cabinet Office adviser hired by Greensill while in civil service

No wonder the usual suspects were applauding Tory MPs voting down Labour's motion the other night.

Former Morgan Stanley banker David Brierwood was brought into the heart of government during David Cameron’s administration in 2014, the same year Greensill’s founder Lex Greensill apparently took on a similar role. Two months later, Brierwood was recruited to join Greensill Capital’s board as a director.
Brierwood remained a Greensill director throughout the rest of his Whitehall appointment, which lasted more than three and a half years, according to his LinkedIn profile, which also showed that he resigned from the supply chain finance firm in February this year.

Yes, that's the same Charlotte Leslie that conveniently "forgot" to declare donations from the Bristol Port Company and Theo Agnew; and had to apologise to the House.Charlotte Leslie

As MP I was offered a £25k job on a board of a waste disposal company - just 4x meetings a year. Told no conflicts of interest as firm wouldn't operate in my constituency. Felt wrong so said (painful) No. Months later firm was bidding for a major contract in my constituency Face vomiting

It says something about this government that the GB-NI food checks they denied were going to happen are particularly severe because of a possible UK-US trade deal accepting US food standards which they have also denied will happen. Hard to trust a government like this.

And in 'least surprising news ever' given some of his crankish outbursts recently, Neil Oliver has joined GB News...

Corporate state capture: the degree to which the British state is porous to business interests is exceptional among established democraciesPolitical parties become corporate brokers who oversee the continuous distribution of public revenue and rents into private hands.

@gilsey
Thanks for that. It sets out the situation beautifully and simply - and, in my opinion, accurately.
Edited to add -
Undermining the Civil Service (begun, but with perhaps slightly less malign intent, by Tony Blair) is the key to the success of this strategy.
