Never mind a quadruple, now they can't win the treble.
They can win a treble but not the treble.
Which pleases me.

Re: Weekend Sat April 18 & Sun April 19
My brother had the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday, he was up all night with 'flu like symptoms' and was feeling pretty sorry for himself today, which came as a bit of a relief because it means there's more than likely a genetic reason I felt like shit after mine and it wasn't a result of all the wine I drank is obviously sad.
Whereas a friend had the Pfizer vaccine yesterday and was completely fine when I saw him today with no side effects whatsoever.
While out and about avoiding some dreary funeral they had on TV I couldn't help but notice the park next door was almost empty despite it being a beautiful day. "Where has everyone gone?" I wondered, before reaching the nearest Wetherspoons. They must have doubled the amount of tables they put out making an absolute mockery of any idea of social distancing, people were literally jammed in next to each other, and this in an area with a stubbornly high infection rate, more than 3 times the national average. Don't get me wrong, the smell of the beer and pub food on a warm sunny day was sorely tempting but not enough to jam myself into a plastic seat fighting for elbow room with multiple potential plague carriers for a cheap pint and burger. So I wandered by muttering 'idiots' to myself and got to feel all superior.

I had my 2nd AZ last weekend and have had tiredness ever since - no ‘physical’ symptoms at all. It may just be coincidence that Mrs Sonny and I have worked hard in the garden with the improved weather, but I choose not to believe it!

Good evening.
Apparently there are Labour moles in No 10...

No, I don't believe it either given that No 10 staff are all the PM's people.

I hope your gardening is going better than mine. All my lavender was killed by the frosts, my tomato seedlings keep dying and my Bergenias refuse to flower properly and look diseased. On the plus side the 'weeds' I planted for the bees (purple toadflax, red valerian) are doing really well, and if the bees end up happy that's all that matters.

We’ve held back from planting out to avoid frost - the cold frame comes in useful! I’m sure it’ll all be disaster but keep on hoping.

Re: Weekend Sat April 18 & Sun April 19
Hmmm...after blowing up the page and reading the whole blurry article there did seem to be something conspicuously missing. Evidence. Any evidence at all. Johnson's government has been a sieve right from the start, it was leaking all over the place long before Cummings started making threats to the civil service. Rather than Labour activating a 'sleeper cell' (it actually says that) it's far more likely we're seeing the results of Tory infighting and frustrated professional people reaching the ends of their tether. That's what we saw with Trump's White House and Johnson's government is of the same calibre. The stench of corruption has obviously got them spooked, for the first time something seems to be sticking, and if flailing blindly at Labour and the civil service is all they've got then we may all end up thanking Cameron for his venality in the weeks and months ahead.RogerOThornhill wrote: Apparently there are Labour moles in No 10...

I've done the same with my tomatoes, only putting them out during the day when it's warm, but they keep dying for no discernable reason. I've tried watering them more, tried watering them less, kept them indoors, put them outside, and the result is always the same. One minute my seedling's proud and erect, the next it's flaccid and withered.notnowsonny wrote:We’ve held back from planting out to avoid frost.
This has never happened to me before. Honestly.

As for the quiche. Nobody could make quiche appealing. A load of slimy cold gloop in wet pastry. Absolutely revolting.
Re: Weekend Sat April 18 & Sun April 19
It sounds as if you've been served squish rather than quiche. A good quiche is nothing like that which you describe.

The Tory peer who chairs NHS England is facing demands to explain why he helped arrange for Greensill Capital to lobby senior health service bosses, with Labour describing his role as “shocking”.
Lord Prior of Brampton is facing questions over a meeting he organised between the now collapsed finance firm’s founder Lex Greensill and the overall boss of the NHS and its chief financial officer.

Jeez...is this the best they can do?
Labour drawn into Greensill row as it emerges key Starmer ally works for lobbying firm

What do they expect him to do?
Pathetic.

So basically "Lawyer works for law firm"?The Conservatives on Sunday night attempted to draw Labour into the lobbying row engulfing Westminster by claiming an senior opposition frontbencher has questions to answer over his role at a firm that provides advocacy services....

Pathetic.
