Apologies for the site not being accessible for a bit. I started the newest upgrade and then had to help a friend move house.

But look, avatars are back.

Good morning.

I see that London, looking at the "Reform Party - London deserves better" candidates, decided that London deserves better than them and gave them all about 2-3% as far as I can see so far.

Richard Tice has been awfully quiet...

The previous style isn't compatible with the new version of phpBB. I am still looking for something similar though.

Work in progress - the old mod is no longer compatible and I can't install a new one until it's removed - however I can't remove it, because it isn't compatible(!).

"We're not the Tories" maybe isn't the greatest platform. Actually offering something to voters might help persuade them.

It looks fine to me.

I think my old one didn't load as it was too wide, too high, and file size too big.

Lozza is currently running at 2% right now with 7 areas complete and 7 to go.

Khan 40%
Bailey 36%

But the remainder are fairly solidly for Khan with big majorities.

Despite voting for her I'm kinda hoping Tracy Brabin doesn't win the West Yorkshire mayoral election. It would trigger a by-election in Batley, and given the way things are looking at the moment that's the last thing Labour needs.

Labour hold Leeds. Lost one to the Conservatives and one to Independents, a few results to go but not enough for them to lose control of the council.

Well. I did say there were hopes Dan Norris would do well in the West of England mayoralty but I didn't really think he'd do it. Perhaps the previous Tory mayor doing bugger all to the point Boris Johnson couldn't name him in a tv interview was a factor.

I wonder how long our 'free speech' would last if we turned up at Tice and Fox's pub? It would be an interesting experiment after 8 pints.

As for right wing comedy, my brother's girlfriend's sister (bear with me) told me last weekend that she used to work in a club in Rhyll in the 90's. Roy Chubby Brown performed one night and there was a small section of the audience booing and heckling him throughout. After it was over his minders waited outside, dragged some of them off as they were leaving, and gave them a beating. Men and women alike so ironically it would appear Roy's heavies had no time for sex discrimination.

With 67 per cent on the first ballot!!

Meanwhile, looks almost certain that Labour have won the Cambridgeshire/Peterborough mayoralty.

Pretty much a reverse Hartlepool if it happens

Brabin only has a 3,500 majority in Batley and Spen. Take the Brexit Party out of the equation and the Tories could easily win it, all they'd have to do was siphon off a few votes from the 'Heavy Woollen District Independents' who are basically Ukip under a different name. If there is a by-election I wouldn't fancy Labour's chances under the present circumstances.

So Angela Rayner's been made the scapegoat. Didn't Starmer say he would take full responsibility?

It's hardly Rayner's fault Labour had no policies, and it's pretty difficult to campaign without them.

The timing of that is just appalling.

I would imagine Sadiq Khan is none too happy about the way that was done just before his result is announced.

Now being spun that Rayner isn't being "sacked" at all.

Whether instantly going down like a cup of cold sick with almost everybody is a reason for this "clarification", I could not possibly speculate :D

Labour needs to heal its divisions or split. Of course I voted Labour, but with a very heavy heart.

Why demote Jonathan Ashworth (if that's what's going to happen)? Presumably he was following instructions when he didn't challenge the Conservatives on anything. It sends out the wrong message when Labour is saying that they're behind the Conservatives re the handling of Covid but not their own Shadow Secretary of State. Matt Hancock is ok but our Shadow Secretary of State was crap? It's rather a slap round the face with a wet halibut for him. Get rid of him later - fine - I'm no fan. But now? It doesn't even look good.

I would just like to object to this flagrant example of drunkism.

Some of us do our best work while drunk and I'm strongly of the opinion that if Keir Starmer spent more of his time drunk then the Labour Party wouldn't have found itself in this predicament.
