So it's ok to embark on the wholesale eradication of thousands of people's way of life because it causes you inconvenience when catching the train as long as you do it politely?
As for his pitiful attempt to justify this by highlighting the difficulties a transient lifestyle can have on respecting the area where you're currently abiding, I note he doesn't bring up the example of students.
When I was at University I lived in Hyde Park in Leeds and it shocked me how little regard the students had for the few locals (almost entirely pensioners) who were left in the area. Dumping rubbish and pissing in their gardens, stealing their hanging baskets, acting like obnoxious, entitled little shits if anyone complained. The communal bin area at the end of my street was like an open air tip that stank in the Summer but at least some of them were putting it in there, the rest would leave their rubbish in the street for someone else to deal with. It was a shithole. I still walk through Hyde Park these days on my way to the Brudenell Social Club and it's just as bad now as it was then.
Being a mature student gave me a different perspective, I know I'd have been just as bad if I'd been 18, and it's not just students. Anyone who's lived on a street with houses converted into cheap flats with short term tenants will be familiar with gardens full of rubbish and old mattresses and other assorted detritus.
Millions of people in this country, at one stage in their life or another, will lead a transient lifestyle with little to no connection with the communities in which they find themselves. They'll make a mess, they'll be noisy, they'll piss of the locals, but it's only the few thousand travellers that need to have their way of life extinguished for their own good according to Matthew and Anna's polite Tory sentiments. How curious.

Piping an oxygen-rich liquid through the anus could be a life-saver. A new treatment for failing lungs that involves such a process has been successfully tested in pigs.

Why not? Most of the government have already demonstrated they can talk through theirs.

Sounds like Leeds students have become much worse. It wasn't like that in my day. There were a few tossers of course, and I did once have to live in a house without a functioning bathroom (though most people living there weren't students, just pissed).

There was a bog. Quite often there were torn up squares of newspaper installed in it, as actual bogroll was apparently deemed too much of a luxury by the residents of the other "apartments".

I remember going to buy hash from some crusty dealer's house in the West End of Newcastle and visiting the toilet. This was a mistake. Even torn up newspaper was too much of a luxury for these guys, it looked (and smelled) like they'd been communally using a single tea towel.

Does anyone know if the supporters were supposed to be wearing masks at the FA Cup final?
The governmnent goon at half time said they'd be looking at certain criteria when it came to increasing crowds in the future and one of them was 'mask compliance' so that would suggest they were, but I can't seem to find anything confirming it one way or the other.
Anyway, well done Leicester.

It was a lovely day. I was supposed to be joining my friend in Calderdale for a rural Sunday stroll for the first time since Covid began but the weather looked shit so I postponed it. What a fool I felt as I sat outside having a cuppa at lunchtime in the glorious sunshine, but then came the clouds, then the wind, then the hail, and then the rain.

So it would appear Gavin Williamson, who got a degree in Social Science from Bradford University, is sneering at his own qualification.
Which seems a bit harsh given it got him a job as a fireplace salesman despite him being an absolute prick according to just about everyone who has ever had anything to do with him including his own colleagues.
Johnson, like yours truly, has done nothing with his 2:1 in Classics, but I have to say at least I pay for my own soft furnishings and have no CCJ's.
