@tinyclanger2 yesterday

Two Englands. British aristocracy (=English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh but all with the same pronunciation - always perceived as "English" no matter who they are or where they're from). And the rest of us.
Am literally sick of it.

@me today

This articulates exactly what I feel: us and them, going right back, if we're going to be over-dramatic, to the Norman Conquest (whence comes the homogeneous aristocracy, of course). There's certainly a pecking order in the "us" section, which is to be deplored, but "us" should stick together because you can guarantee "them" aren't conceding any ground unless it's taken from them.

Good morfternoon.

"Pin resets wipe all data from over 100 Treasury mobile phones

With each reset, texts sent from those phones are likely to have been lost. This includes messages sent by Tom Scholar, the department’s permanent secretary, which MPs have said should be released. Scholar was asked earlier this year to disclose the communications he had with the former prime minister and lobbyist David Cameron." (Guardian)

How very convenient.

Obviously Cameron will have them stored in his electronic devices and will have no difficulty in releasing them for the purposes of providing full transparency. No worries then.

"Tories have unhealthy financial reliance on property developers, says report

Research finds a fifth of party’s donations came from residential property sector, posing ‘real risk of aggregative corruption’" (Guardian)

If there is a more pathetic human being alive than Darren Grimes, not sure I actually want to hear about it.

In contrast, Argar said he “probably would” wear a mask on an empty train if this was required by the train operator.

Argar told Today that with the advent of school holidays in England, summer weather and the extent of vaccination rates, it was the right time to reopen.

“I think we have to be clear about this, that if not now, when?” he said. “We want to see these restrictions relaxed. Yes, we’re seeing the infection rates go up, and hospitalisations and death rates will go up, but there is nowhere near that direct and strong correlation there was, say, back in January when we had equivalent levels of infection rates.”
Grr.
Frstly he might not wear a face mask even if it was required by a Train operator, ok, that:s not confusing guidance at all.
Secondly 'when' isn't most people's only issue it's more what & how
Thirdly, when he says direct & strong correlation, does he actually mean morbidity ratio, has reduced (ie correlation may be more or less the same, just gradient that's changed)
Rant over.

Checked the LiveBlog, Spaffer and his two stooges .

I'm seriously wondering what ( the future Lord) Whitty's 'overwhelmed' NHS could look like , now that regular operations for things like cancer have been canceled yet again, and that apparently is OK ?.

The backlash against the backlash today has been both voluble and heartening.
