Morning RFM
Finally got around to the Duffield Long Read --
Many staunch Labour members and supporters have now left the party – hounded out by unfounded allegations of antisemitism, disappointed with the prospect of more Blairite “red-Toryism” under Starmer – but also thoroughly disillusioned about the person we campaigned for in 2017 – the “brand” that had been presented to us all in Canterbury as Rosie Duffield.

Several , related to the above, quotes from that leaked 851 page report, but this will do for now --
Meanwhile left wingers were being thrown out of the party for having advocated a Green vote years before they joined, or for calling MPs who supported the Iraq war “warmonger”. The report makes an overwhelming case that the Governance and Legal Unit of the Labour Party failed to take action on accusations of anti-semitism because it was devoting all of its energies to a factional effort to remove Corbyn supporters from the party.

These right wing staff were hoping for Labour electoral defeats in order to get rid of Corbyn. Senior Labour staff were actually hoping Labour would lose its seat in the Manchester Gorton by-election.

Off to use my VaxxPass to get into the Granville Aquacentre !

Let's be clear about one thing, its the media in this country which has the main problem with transphobia rather than any one political party.

The latter are reluctant to deal with confirmed transphobes like Duffield precisely because of how the former would react.

Reminiscent of Stalin murdering 90odd% of his senior generals before WW2 . But I can't see the Yanks coming to help Starmer . ( joking )

As long as people praise where praise is due as well as criticise when called for, I think it should be fine.

The problem is, there hasn't been a lot to praise him for recently.

Now that's a reasonable comment.

I would argue that he is doing a bit better than a month or two ago tbf, but would also fully accept that is a low bar indeed.
