I don't think that or anything else in the reshuffle compares to the Dorries appointment in its sheer horror tbh.

Johnson excited about getting the public to contribute to the "bonfire of EU laws" - good idea given our track record in participatory policy making (Brexit).

This (on grass roots democracy) is a little more cheering.

I have my suspicions on past form, for sure.

Don't know what sort of facial expression this is inducing but we need an emoticon for it.https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-ente ... 21183.html
Government ministers are planning to introduce a legal requirement that broadcasters produce “clearly British” TV shows.
Or at least a name.

Re: Thursday 16th September 2021
Just back from a week daan saaf visiting PorFavor, who once again was a splendid host. She put up with my cooking, even when it went horribly wrong, and provided free wine then didn't bat an eyelid when I chucked it all over her leather couch then seconds later kicked it all over the floor. What more could anyone ask for?
As you can see the weather was great and I think we got out and about enough to say we made the most of it.

Oh god I think maybe a week down South has made me go soft, I've had to put a jumper on, or maybe it's just a bit chillier up here at night.
Anyway, is anyone watching Question Time? I'm not sure I can be arsed.

I met a cat with that kind of attitude quite recently.

I had a great time, too. And the cooking that Sky'sGoneOut refers to may not have been what was originally planned, but turned out to be extremely tasty. No credit is due to me - Sky'sGoneOut is the perfect guest.

Re: Thursday 16th September 2021
So while I was away my landlord offered to pop in to make sure everything was ok.
I get back and the lampshade of my uplighter lamp is broken and the bin that was right next to it is curiously empty. As if some bumbling fool has emptied my bin (deemed unecessary before I left) and somehow broken my lamp.
That's coming off my rent.

Honestly though this isn't true. I really fucked up a pasta sauce and panicked, PF took one taste of it and suggested having it with rice instead.
Which worked.
As for me being a perfect guest. Yeah that sounds about right, I'm awesome.
