Good morning.

Wouldn't surprise me if Crapita had the DWP on their backs telling them not to settle. It is believed to be the first time an agent of the DWP has settled a legal claim brought as a result of their errors. Capita, which administers disability benefits under contract to DWP, has also agreed to meet the family to discuss ways to improve its interactions with benefits claimants.

I know its a slightly cruel thing to say, but is anybody actually noticing Starmer's current absence?

I see that lots in the media are doing their "its an obscure technical issue that ordinary people won't care about" thing again.

Pippa Crerar
@PippaCrerar
Y'know what, I'm not sure this whole row *will* pass the public by as just another Westminster bubble issue.
I've been told by several Tory MPs they're already getting emails from constituents. Starting to cut through?

Good afternoon.
I'm assuming that she won't apologise for this one...utterly shameful behaviour.
It'll be interesting to see the vote as I understand over a dozen Tories voted against.

Ah, here they are. The only decent Tories in the House.
Paterson had the utter gall to vote in favour - "Do I vote to let myself off? Well, why not..."

Re: Wednesday 3rd November 2021
Majority was only 18, clearly quite a few abstentions too.
And of the opposition, only a single DUP member voted with the pro-Paterson Tories.
I do think that this one is going to run now.

Excellent - Yorkshire Tea decided it wants nothing to do with Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Must admit, my instant thought on that - "how on earth do they expect to get away with it?" - is looking pretty sound now.
(and the same applies to today's big "scandal", of course)
