Governments of all colours, sadly. No moral high ground for Labour here.

@gilsey
Sadly the 'small government anti-regulations' rhetoric continues uncorrected , in so many countries .
Last week FranceInter radio had magistrates on all week , call-ins from public, on the delays in justice caused by staff shortages .and the catastrophic decline in morale in the service.
Public health sector still closing beds despite covid. FR, D and more.
Second Daughter sick of doing planned overtime because of the 1800 teaching posts cut. Most of her career in deprived secondary schools (beginning 2005 in car-burning region nr Paris ), currently in lycée, hoping to move into University teaching soon.

Not everybody here will agree I know, but IMO you should only call for a resignation if you think you have a reasonably good chance of getting one.

Starmer did ok imo. Blackford can be relied on to call for resignation.

Johnson is now going to do an announcement about the return of some virus restrictions. Wonder how that might go?

Good to hear the Speaker emphasising that statements on restrictions should be made in the house...

Good morfternoon.
An Opinium survey conducted for Sky News shows that 53% of the people surveyed think that Boris Johnson should resign. 26% think that he should not resign. I assume, but don't know, if the other 21% "Don't Know". I also don't know if my memory for figures and my arithmetic are to be unreservedly relied upon. But that's the gist.

Quite encouraging that British voters do still care about pathological lying and utter disrespect for your average citizen.

Also Johnson's resignation would be against Labour's best interests, they should be doing everything in their power to keep him as Prime Minister.AnatolyKasparov wrote: ↑Wed 08 Dec, 2021 12:08 pm Not everybody here will agree I know, but IMO you should only call for a resignation if you think you have a reasonably good chance of getting one.

He needs to stay for long enough to toxify the Tory brand irrevocably - I'm not sure we are quite there yet.

This article was amended on 8 December 2021. It was the throne of Scotland that was claimed by Robert Bruce, not the throne of England, as an earlier version said.
