BBC acknowledges Alan Dershowitz was an unsuitable choice as an “impartial analyst”.

Interesting at least that they caved in almost right away this time, rather than doubling down when criticised as they normally do.

This looks like genuinely good news. A cheap, easily manufactured, not patented Covid vaccine

I hope it’s as promising as it sounds!

Anybody about this evening?

Me, but there’s not much new to say.

The government’s Covid policy is “bonkers” according to a SAGE member. And it obviously is.

People are rightly calling the establishment media on their reporting of “favourite daughter” and “socialite” Ghislaine Maxwell brought to justice by the testimony of her “accusers”.

The PM is nowhere to be seen apart from his bizarre “in this country” interview from yesterday.

On a more personal note, it’s my last day of isolation!

I don’t have a temperature or any symptoms apart from an occasional cough, so I shouldn’t be a danger to anyone. However, I do still test positive on lateral flow, which seems to be the case with more or less everyone. It’s very confusing, because the previous recommendation (still in force) was not to test after illness, whereas Javid now says you can end isolation after 7 days if you test negative (which nobody seems to).

All those Isolation rules / recommendations are purely compromises with how many people are left out.
Imagine a distribution curve which descends and then tapers off to nothing over, say THREE WEEKS .
So, a very few people will still be infectious after a govt cutoff . Also their viral load would be far less too.

Back to the isolation thing, a very unscientific survey suggests younger folk are getting out after 7 days more easily, which makes sense….

Very well worth a read !!!!!!!

The BBC’s latest go-to legal authority (cough cough) Alan Dershowitz called Tutu

” “evil” and “the most influential antisemite of our time”.

So what is SKS going to do ?

Will Party members who say, or HAVE said in the past, nice things about the late Archbish Tutu be suspended ?

The Labour Party under this management sure is a "tangled web" and SKS and acolytes deserve all the ridicule coming to them :-)
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave/When first we practise to deceive!", a line from Marmion, an epic poem by Walter Scott; A Tangled Web, a 1931 novel by ...

I can't tell if I'm becoming more sanguine or just giving up. I will no doubt report in in due course.
On the other hand Tutu's "side of the opressor" comment still resonates.

It is remarkable that the BBC managed two entirely unnecessary and deranged interviews with Dershowitz in the same week.

Once the beeb gets wedded to its "safe pairs of hands" it finds it difficult to change Course ..........

Some years back on Toady & WATO they would introduce

"Neil Fergusson of the HERITAGE FOUNDATION"

as tho that was some guarantee of respectability, tho in fact it was and IS is a Right Wing Propaganda Org.

America suffers from a list of societal and political conditions that predispose it to violence, and the list seems to be growing longer. At the same time, states that have always defended their sovereignty are more and more defiant of federal authority, which they characterize as increasingly intrusive and tyrannical.

Certainly not a "fantasy" of the End of Democracy if the GOP decides the election winner ...

Yeah and I guess folk like Ferguson and Dershowitz make themselves super easy to contact etc, unlike real experts who may actually be busy doing something.
