The accusations are very - specific.

Given this governments no nonsense attitude to drugs one has to question if this is true, how they justify do as I say not as I do.

I wonder if one issue about a greater desire to see doctors is because we live in such an information rich environment and when it comes to medical information, almost whoever it's coming from online if there is any risk at all it's pretty much obliged to recommend seeking medical attention.

(Full disclosure - both of my daughters have direct access to the children's ward at the hospital, they are effectively permanent outpatients, so either something is bad enough to go straight there or perfectly fine to wait for an appointment).

The role of Pharmacists should be promoted to people, too, as a first port of call for most ailments and even minor injuries. They can prescribe medicines and treatments – as long as the condition is 'within their competence' but a Pharmacist will always advise on where you should seek treatment if something does need more specialist attention.

(P.S. @adam: I hope your daughters spend a lot more time being out-patients, rather that in-patients – ie., that they stay as well as is possible.)

This one has a story behind it with Joe Boyd playing some stuff for John Cale and then getting to Nick. Cale was amazed - "Who the fuck is this guy? I have to meet him...where is he...where is he right now?" They recorded Northern Sky and Fly the next day...one day after Cale had met him for the first time. Cale is on piano, organ and celeste. - The start of Universal Credit replacement of Tax Credits from January 2015 has been abandoned. DWP has delayed plans by at least 2 years for the transfer of the majority of tax credits claimants to Universal Credit to 2019. It does not have plans to transfer the remaining 555,000 tax credit and Employment and Support Allowance claimants before 2020.

So, this will be a leading story on Wednesday's The Daily Politics, and Today, and WatO, and all the news programmes, wo'n't it? No? Of course, it is on exactly none of the front-pages, since it was embargoed until 00.01hrs on Wednesday – still, there are always later editions.

They do - I have said this here before, I know, but they have the access because they both have type 1 diabetes and when they were younger they were both in for a few days at least once a year, usually just with a sickness bug that ground them completely to a halt - but they're now 13 and 16 and they haven't been in as inpatients for about five years now. Thank you x
