There are a number of possibilities here. It could be that The Thing is active in Hartlepool and is busy creating multiple copies of Jill Mortimer. This would be easily solved with a sample of their blood and a hot needle. There is also the possibility that Jill Mortimers are arriving in Hartlepool from other universes due to a transporter error, however Star Trek tells us they would be easily distinguishable, for example a Jill Mortimer from the evil universe would have a goatee beard. Another possibility is that Jill Mortimer is a hitherto unknown single cell creature of immense size which is reproducing naturally by binary fission. If this is the case and the Jill Mortimers continue to reproduce clones of themselves at an exponential rate then soon all of Hartlepool will be filled with Jill Mortimers and they will begin spilling out into Peterlee and Redcar. Obviously this would not be ideal and the entire area would have to be sealed off and nuked. Something I have been calling for for a long time.

If the Radio 4 Tories on Any Questions/Answers are anything to go by the Conservatives are about to take one hell of a kicking at the local elections, especially down South. Posh Tories lining up to put the boot into Johnson one after another. They're really pissed off. Besmirching the reputation of the party apparently. It just won't do.

One of the few dissenting voices calling for Johnson to stay was a Labour voter who rang in to say he thought Johnson should be forced to remain Prime Minister until the public had a proper chance to kick his arse in a general election. I wholeheartedly agreed with him.

My main question about *that* "article" in the MoS is, did they really actually think it would help the PM??

Good morfternoon.

If, from the TV news, I've got the gist of the juvenile, misogynistic Mail on Sunday article it would suggest that the paper has very little faith in the equally juvenile and misogynistic Boris Johnson's ability to keep his mind on the job. Will it be advocating the compulsory wearing of the burka in the Commons or simply the banning of women MPs?

You assume correctly.

Edited to add -

I now discover this, on the Guardian -

Had I known it was there, I'd have provided the link earlier so's people would have known what I was on about. Sorry for being abstruse.

Angela Rayner blasts Tories over Basic Instinct claims.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... laims.html
The Tories are facing a backlash over 'sexist' and 'misogynistic' claims...

Conservative MPs suggested Ms Rayner likes to...
Not a single mention of the rather salient fact that they published this prurient garbage and have been roundly condemned for it from all sides. Top level trolling. I bet they're loving it.

Someone should ask Dan Hodges what he thinks of this as he likes to say "I don't write for the Mail I write for the Mail on Sunday" as if it's somehow more upmarket.

There was actually a *bit* of a difference between the Sunday and Daily Mails a few years ago, but the former has now been fully Dacreised.

Nope. I've only rung a radio show once. It was James Whale late Nineties on Talk Radio and I was drunk. It started off quite well but eventually the urge to use profane language to describe his stunted intellect became overwhelming and I was cut off. That evening I thought my performance had been awesome but the next day when I listened back to it (I taped it) it transpired that my voice had gone rather high pitched as if I'd been dabbling in helium so it sounded as if he was being abused by an inebriated munchkin. To this day I have no idea why that happened.

Noticeable too that they still have the Sharon Stone photo prominently featured. Rayner’s response on twitter is very good.

Boris Johnson defends Angela Rayner against ‘perverted’ Basic Instinct claim (Sunday Times - paywall)
It's got to the point where one could almost be forgiven for thinking that the article was written to set the scene for Boris Johnson to be the man on the white charger. Angela Rayner has, I gather, thanked him for his intervention - she had little choice, I think, unless she wanted to be accused of being unprofessional and ungracious - but somebody else should take up the cudgels and point out that Johnson is guilty of creating the climate in which anyone could feel free to make such comments. Or should we wait for Jacob Rees Mogg's reaction so that it can all be dealt with in one fell swoop?

Johnson put out the identical tweet to Dorries, presumably from their WhatsApp, which seems careless.

Is there an instance of Labour MPs sending identical tweets on the issue du jour, do we know?

Perhaps it's because I don't have a twitter account, but I don't follow the string above. ie: what is the relationship between the sophie corcoran tweet and jeremy vine?

She lists the Jeremy Vine show as one of the places you can find her:

And he came straight out to bat for her, after she's been exposed spreading disinformation, in defence of Johnson.

A campaign so well run that Macron could win by a bigger margin than any actual poll predicted. And its not as if he is invulnerable or anything.

If it was clear to an idiot like me she was going to have her derriere handed to her after the first round results I can't imagine what the French press were doing pretending otherwise.

For some reason I see you challenging this 'professor' to a balloon race because he traduced the honour of your neice.

When it comes to steering balloons don't try this...

TLDR: They all died.

But there's a Max von Sydow film about it which is pretty good.
