David Lammy, erm whoops.
(he has apparently admitted he pronounced on the BA strike without knowing the reasons for it)

If he started from the assumption that all corporations are heartless bastards that never miss an opportunity to screw their workers to keep more money for themselves he would never have made such a rookie error. The reality is that most people are pretty apathetic and will put up with an awful lot of chipping away of their pay and conditions for a quiet life. There's nearly always some pretty major taking the piss by an employer behind any move to strike. Labour need to demonstrate more clearly that they are fully behind the fair pay and conditions that would make strike action unnecessary when making the rather obvious but ultimately irrelevant point that nobody wants to see strikes because they're disruptive. No shit Sherlock. Workers don't want to be screwed over either but you don't always get what you want.AnatolyKasparov wrote: ↑Wed 29 Jun, 2022 2:44 pm David Lammy, erm whoops.

Well the SC member actually responsible for transport stuff, Louise Haigh, has actually been very good on all this.
