Morning all.
Re: Tuesday 19th July 2022
Morning RFM
Well it cooled down to 27 after 29+ all night, and much relief that it's forecast considerably lower from late afternoon .
A little bit of 30° later seems like nothing compared to yesterday.

I put a water bottle in the freezer yesterday, then wrapped it in a towel and put it in my bed. Felt like it made a difference.

I hadn't thought of that, but of course it's a good idea .

I saw one pic of Nad barracking with BJ beside her looking distinctly unhappy . Good .
But of course it could have been his hangover ? Damn !
Re: Tuesday 19th July 2022
Nudging 30 already, but off to the beach to immerse up to the neck before the sun really strikes, water around 20!
Re: Tuesday 19th July 2022
That's very good.
Not too bad last night, down to 18 at 5am, but then 30C at 9am!
Forde report incoming, maybe?

It is good, but putting Ian Austin in his place really is classic fish/barrel/shoot territory.

Badenoch out - thank f***. Her online cultdom was becoming genuinely unsettling (yes, comparisons with certain other recent political events are available)

@Sky - snap!
Re: Tuesday 19th July 2022
No real respite here in the South West yet. We had a brief rain shower earlier and a couple of rumbles of thunder but no drop in temperature so all it's achieved is to push humidity up by 10 degrees.
I see the Forde report is being interpreted in the reader's image for the most part - my own bias that they were all as bad as each other being one take among many.
Meanwhile it's looking most like Truss V Sunak. Is it possible for either to be worse than Boris? At least Sunak will be better dressed and Truss will have some comic value. I'm going to be optimistic and guess we'll be bumping along the bottom of the barrel Boris was already scraping rather than sink any further. To protect my sanity I'm not even going to think about Mordaunt as PM unless and until it actually happens.
On the whole I think I prefer exciting pork markets under batty Truss to fiscal conservatism under slick Sunak (famous last words, no doubt )

Well that conspiracy theory *has* done the rounds hasn't it, and it was always a pretty silly one.
People like AB would have more of a point if they pointed out - quite correctly - that was a long way from being the central message of the report.

@sky
A trip to Islay is essential if you're into birdwatching or whisky. Otherwise, compared with Mull, it's smaller and quieter, unless you're on the distillery tours. By Scotland standards it's relatively flat, the mountains are on Jura but that's only a short ferry trip. Scenery probably less varied than Mull, but more beaches. If you're there on a Wednesday you can go there and back to Colonsay which is lovely, in good weather of course.
We've been before, many years ago but mr gilsey went diving a few times so we didn't see the whole island or go to Jura, we still haven't been to Jura because even on the good days the mountains hardly emerged from the cloud.
Agree with your Dad about Skye.

@Gilsey
Of all the alcohols whisky is possibly my least favourite.
I do like spying on birds though as long as it involves other fun things and isn't taken too seriously. Hardcore twitchers freak me out.

There was 30 seconds of rain and all it seems to have done, is make it really humid.

Let's get this right, it was front benchers not "MPs". And some of them did and still kept their jobs anyway.
