Good morning.
Weather is better this morning. I can have my doors open to the garden without being blasted with hot air.
meanwhile, someone doesn't want to answer any questions...

This one sentence pretty much sums up the Tories over the last 12 years:
In 2021 a government advisory body, the Climate Change Committee, found that the government was comprehensively failing to protect people from extreme weather conditions. “The United Kingdom has the capacity and the resources to respond effectively,” the report stated. “Yet it has not done so.”

Although Clarkson hasn't mentioned the possibility that the current tories are ideologically opposed to acting in the best interests of the people.

God, what an embarrassment. He's like the exact opposite of the Terminator ffs. Arnie's even a better politician than he is. An absolute joke to the very end.

Johnson got the now customary standing ovation at his last PMs today, but only from (most of) his own MPs. That sums him up pretty well.

Oh well I'd have lost money betting on Mordaunt but despite the whingeing she's got nobody to blame but herself. Her campaign was an absolute mess.
Still, it was closer than I thought it was going to be and the opposition dream of facing Liz Truss looks likely to become a reality.

Still think that Sunak will beat her, polls schmolls.
Though tbh Mordaunt frankly got what one deserves for retweeting an Allison Pearson article.

I'm assuming that there will now ne much briefing of the fact that Truss was a LibDem *and* Remainer, and therefore isn't really a Tory and can't possibly be trusted.

Re: Wednesday 20th July 2022
I just walked through a film set twice. They'd blocked off all the streets but not noticed the little path from the park I take to get to the pub, so I ended up wandering around in a film set by accident and nobody said anything. I got stared at but it would seem nobody knew if I was supposed to be there or not so they left me alone while setting up shots with lights and cameras and teenage girls. On the way home I had a chat to the utterly ineffectual security chaps and they said it was a 'spooky film' and that they were being paid minimum wage. They let me walk right through it all again.
