Morning refit

Without twitter , and the choice to follow a few thousand GP's other docs&specialists nurses carers scientists and patients on twitter , I might never have known this some time ago. And perhaps not even today.

Actually not only twitter . Before September2020 I had found Long Coviders Professor Danny Altmann and journalist Gez Medinger on youtube, applying their experiences to the first friend to be afflicted on 12/3/2020 .

when people find out how their governments have lied to them, about the possible long term consequences of Covid, they will be very angry
It would be good to think that people in this country would be angry, but I doubt it.

And never will.

There is hunger in our bellies, there is laughter in our eyes;'

Good to see the Welsh fans with their rainbow hats in the stadium.

People are mostly not angry about Covid, because they see it as basically an "act of God".

Believe me, they are currently pretty cross about quite a lot of other stuff though.

Good evening.

Day at the library today, then back to cook some dinner.

Meanwhile, I've long thought that this one was a a bit of a crank...but this is just odd.

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

"Not particularly religious" people who bang on about the decline of organised religion being a bad thing really are the absolute worst.

AK -- the Useless English have been told by their MSM (and govt) to 'forget Covid' , and by and large they have obeyed .
Doesn't mean you have to agree with them .

OK . When was the last time YOU wore a mask** in a crowded space such as a shop, GP's waiting room, bus, tram, train.

** A 'surgical mask' is virtually a pretend-item , but it's always better than nothing ! :-)

Please don't try to "Britsplain" to me, ta ;)

For the LARGE MAJORITY of people in this country, Covid was at most a minor inconvenience.

There were some who died, and some of those deaths may have been avoidable. That is very unfortunate.

As is the fact that a *few* people got Long Covid and other unpleasant side effects.

But for most, it is now effectively over. They don't need to be "brainwashed" by anyone to think that, it is their lived experience.

Child abuse inquiry: School 'reputations put before victims'
I mean, this is the thing, isn't it? When you hold such negative associations with the things "the other side" hold dear, compromise - consensus - becomes almost impossible. And the right really don't want consensus politics because it doesn't serve them. It's just pointless to engage with it. If enough people think their lives are shit they'll vote the Tories out and if they don't, they won't.

YOU love Starmer , the nearest thing to a 1935 German SA in the 'Labour' Partei .

He doesn't want JKR's online troll army piling onto him, totally understandable.

If he did indeed "support trans rights" then I genuinely don't see the problem here.

Rowling and her friends don't want trans people to exist (well, really just trans women. Trans men don't get mentioned a lot, for some reason).

She also seems to be very comfortable, cosying up to the like of LibsOfTikTok and, self-proclaimed Christo-fascist, Matt Walsh.

Yeah I know, how does that alter what I said?

I don't recall Corbyn going to war against anti-trans people either, or depriving Duffield of the whip.

But I suppose that was "different" - it always is.

So, Rosie Duffield didn't start posting transphobic messages until August 2020, a full 4 months after Corbyn had stepped down as leader. I'm not sure what you expect him to have done about her, when it has all happened under Starmer.

England have now played the USA three times in World Cup finals, and have yet to win a game.
