Good morning.

It's all so depressing.

Meanwhile, if anyone feels cheated by the lack of tension in the footie last night, the cricket team are making up for it.

The only thing "big policy fights" over this stuff will do at this stage, is to give the Tories hope they can pull off another "Brexit election" win against the odds next time round. Far too many people overrate "leadership" and downplay events and wider structural forces.

(one of which is that Labour's voters, members and the PLP - now and future - all remain overwhelmingly "pro-Europe" in the broadest sense)

Afghans died because of Raab’s delay in reviewing documents, officials told

Exclusive: Officials told of delays caused by Dominic Raab’s refusal to review Kabul evacuation documents in formats he did not like

Looking worse and worse for Raab . Deservedly so .

French PM and Minister of Health going full blast in the media inciting people to wear masks in transport etc, and the latter hinting that he would have no prob in enforcing it, also in schools etc …

As in Brexitannia , Christmas parties and family reunions figure large in the calculations … but the French warnings are far more serious than anything I’ve seen in UK ??

In Sunday’s WATO the WHO’s David Naborro was clear as usual

” Covid has not finished with us !”

You wouldn’t think so here either, less than 10% masking in the supermarkets etcetc , but fukkem, I’m distributing FFP2 masks to me Over Eighties neighbours .

Which will take us right back to early 2020 when I did the same with the first home-made jobs !

Its possible. But equally Starmer may feel that a price worth paying if it wins over the sort of voters who deserted the party in 2019.
