Morning refit
So Harry is now responsible for a lot of dead trees , the criminal !

Away from all that --

These have been around for ages, but progress is very very slow on the govt level --

Popularised in California at UC Davis by professor Corsi and filter manufacturer Jim Rosenthal it's actually an existing design used by woodworkers to extract dust, but they saw how it could be used particularly in classrooms to counter covid.

Nice practical project for schoolkids too .

I see that writer/journalist/Thatcherite sycophant Paul Johnson has died.

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2023/ ... n-obituary
As a young man, Johnson stood on the left of the Labour party, made Aneurin Bevan the first object of his hero-worship, hymned the French rebels of 1968, and wrote that Tories were “atrophied Englishmen … on occasions, endearing – but liable to turn very nasty at short notice”.

Later he became an ardent supporter of Margaret Thatcher, and could sometimes turn nasty himself.
Indeed.

Lots of others have done the same political journey, but few as "colourfully" as he did.

Indeed there are some parallels with his (actually unrelated, though you might sometimes wonder) ex-PM namesake.

Even after today's news, some will still complain about Cressida Dick being hard done by.

Yes I was wondering earlier whether some who complained about Sadiq Khan getting ride of her because she wouldn't (or couldn't) change the culture in the Met might concede he had a point.

Not a bad show at all tonight, permalink --

Begins with a good interview with an academic and some hard facts on the European states "minimum service levels" in case of strikes .

No prizes for the opinion that the Tories are comparing apples to oranges !

As usual , the crooks .
