Good morning.

Shock report from Civitas splashed all over the front page of the Daily Mail about the dependency ration reaching over 50%.

But which year?

200-21.

And what do they say?
The sharp growth in the net dependency ratio in 2020/21 can be attributed to measures taken in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular the impact of indirect taxes and benefits in kind.

I see Lee Anderson has cemented his reputation as dimmest current MP in replying - rather intemperately - to Sam Freedman about the Civitas report.

And telling him to 'crawl back under your socialist rock & chat bollocks there' isn't very nice language for an MP to use I didn't think.

Neidle says A N Other MP being investigated is not a Conservative.

Not universally popular on here, but I basically agree with what Sky said about Covid at the close of the weekend thread.

Sky said
once everyone who wants it has been vaccinated multiple times it's time to move one because frankly there's nothing else we can do.
I might agree if everyone who wants it has been vaccinated, but afaik boosters haven't been offered to under 50s other than CEV, and the almost total failure to vaccinate children at all is right up there with the very worst failures of this govt.

Also, expecting people to stay home when they're ill doesn't seem unreasonable.
