Confused rash naive commentator thinks she is a “hard working striver“ being harmed by shirking strikers (5,4).

Noticeable that there was nothing from Starmer or Labour (official) on support of yesterday's strikes.

Because they're not prepared to commit to higher public sector pay, because fiscal responsibility bollocks.
No attempt to shift the Overton window despite public opinion already moving in the right direction.

Parties with big majorities are impossible to manage because the stakes are too low. 100 MPs can vote against the government and they’ll still win votes in the Commons. Large caucuses inherently invite division and subgroups.
As the tories have demonstrated since 2019, and they've 'only' a 80 seat majority.

The chance of this happening is not negligible.

But in a way, it might still be for the best if it enables more pluralism.

I think there may be more student support for the strikes than the Vice Chancellors think…..

No QT review tonight I'm afraid. I'm off up North tomorrow and don't want to be travelling hungover so I'm having a break for a week.

Five panelists tonight, after four in some previous shows this year. They should choose one number or the other and stick to it.
