Morning all.
Re: Tuesday 21st February 2023
Good morning.
Once a politician is marked down as anti-abortion most women won't support them, no matter what other subjects come up for debate and no matter whether they protest that their personal/faith views won't influence their politics. If the SNP elect her as leader it would be a massive own goal.
IMO.
A man who's learnt nothing from the US midterms. So many -male- commentators saying that the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade wouldn't influence voting. In an article for the New Statesman, Chris Deerin, its Scotland editor, says that although Forbes’ campaign has been badly damaged, it might not be terminal. Here is an extract.
Is the Forbes campaign really over before it has begun? Perhaps. But there are several weeks to go and her faith, which admittedly seems unusually deep and ideological, is arguably her only real political weak spot. Soon those awkward questions will exhaust themselves and the debate will move on to other territory.

Good morning.
Hellish journey to and from hospital yesterday for an appointment for 'er indoors to see the specialist. Radiotherapy looks to be on but needs a scan first.
This? Oh, just the head of the Holocaust Education Trust congratulating a Telegraph journalist from joining GB News...the station that the Board of Deputies condemned for putting out antisemitic tropes a couple of weeks back. Nothing to see here...

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

And it seems each passing hour sees Kate Forbes staking out another even more extreme socially conservative position than the last.
Is she some work of performance art at this point?

It really is *the* single most objectionable thing about our journalistic class. Unless you just happen to be called Owen Jones, of course.

Insightful journalism from the Groan:
“Friday has been ruled out, as it is the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Cleverly will be at the UN general assembly – which leaves Thursday, the weekend, or early next week as possibilities.”
Searing!

Turns out there's a phantom ferry involved, maybe Grayling had a hand in it.
TL:DR Shortage of toms in Spain, Morocco finds it much easier to flog theirs to the EU rather than UK.
