Tbf one of the things about this business is that the N and F words often cause more heat than light.

Just say what is wrong with it in simple, unambiguous terms. And other comparisons are available too - Orban's Hungary, anyone?

Above all, NEVER call a spade a spade !

Dunty in the 1930s: “You may not like hitler, but calling him a fascist is very offensive and obviously not true.”

An Italian friend recently said to me “the UK is the most corrupt place I’ve lived – you just refuse to call it corruption.” I think something similar is happening with fascism here.
We need a nice friendly sounding term like “chumocracy” that the sensibles can feel ok saying.

Good evening.

And no, he didn't get a satisfactory answer. If they are a news channel, doesn't that make every programme a "news programme"?

One of interest probably only to me but...

Ofsted wants experienced school leader to take over from Spielman

https://schoolsweek.co.uk/ofsted-wants- ... -spielman/
An advisory assessment panel will carry out interviews and recommend candidates to the education secretary, who makes the final decision.

The panel is made up of Ofsted chair Dame Christine Ryan, Ofqual chief regulator Dr Jo Saxton, a senior Department for Education official and Leora Cruddas, chief executive of the academy trust body CST.
So we're going to get someone currently in charge of an academy trust?

Cruddas move from being head of an org wanting school autonomy to being head of a body cheerleading for academy trusts which do not automatically allow for school autonomy was a good example of seeing which wy the wind was blowing...
