Skimming through the Sparrow's report of Johnson's evidence
If it was “obvious” to me that the rules and guidance were not being followed, it would have been equally obvious to dozens of others who also attended the gatherings I did. The vast majority of individuals who have given evidence to the committee and the Cabinet Office investigation have not indicated that they considered that their attendance at the events contravened the rules or the guidance.
Yes it would have been obvious to them but they weren't the PM.
The concepts of 'leadership' and 'setting a good example' are entirely foreign to him. Has anyone ever discovered even the slightest evidence of a moral fibre in his being?

Why the hell are we paying Pannick 200k for this bullshit?

Hadley Freeman's lost the plot.

'revelations about the deep misogyny in the Met raises serious questions about the influence of gender ideology on the force'.

So Johnson's expensive publicly funded defence appears to amount to, 'My wilful ignorance was everyone else's fault.'

Apparently we're supposed to believe he unquestioningly took the word of an ex Daily Mail journalist that everything was hunky dory and that because others at the 'gatherings' don't want to incriminate themselves by admitting breaking lockdown rules, he must be innocent because he's doing the same.

Pathetic wretch, tomorrow should be amusing.

I watched Panorama, I'd criticise it but only the same way as most other economic commentary. They talk about low wages being the result of low productivity and fret over why.

Very, very rare to hear anyone point out that they've got it backwards, low wages cause low productivity. Why invest in technology when you can hire more cheap humans?

I saw a great chart yesterday showing how supermarket wages had gone up just in one year, in effect from £10/hr to £11/hr after they've all leapfrogged each other.

Wonder if Johnson will exhume the "Sue Gray was a Labour plot all along" thing?

Exactly, a situation which has resulted in the UK having lower investment in factory automation than Slovenia. I think I'm right in saying we rank 22nd in the world for factory automation, lowest in the G10 and miles behind Germany and France.
