Not the slightest doubt , but then I wonder !

Might they by pure accident and deep incompetence be doing what a really 100% Machiavellian mob would 'arrange' ?

I think it's reasonable to assume it started with incompetence and HO staff cuts, but progressed under the evil Patel to deliberate abandonment of asylum processing.
Anyone think Patel/Braverman wouldn't volunteer for a Machiavellian mob?

Thanks to sky for the excellent QT review.

The star of the show, icymi

Fraser Nelson said something sensible, he's in favour of allowing asylum seekers to work.

Sorry refit, missed that you'd already posted it. So good we said it twice.

Interested parties still predicting a 5-10% fall in house prices, has that ever happened? Once they get on the slide...
The UK house price correction still has some way to go, predicts Daniel Mahoney, UK Economist at Handelsbanken, after prices fell again in March......latest mortgage approval data from the Bank of England, which is a forward-looking indicator, would suggest that the correction in UK-wide house prices has got some way to go. While mortgage approvals ticked up in February, they only registered at 43,500 which is roughly down by about 40% on the year. Furthermore, the tightening in financial conditions following recent market turbulence is likely to reinforce the current downward trend in prices. The peak to trough fall in UK house prices could end up being in the region of 10%.
But if it looks like a perfect storm, it probably is.
Victoria Scholar, head of investment at interactive investor, says some potential buyers are holding off, in the hope that prices will continue to fall:

The UK housing market has been in disarray since the fiscal fiasco around the mini-budget last September which sent mortgage rates sharply higher while many mortgage deals were pulled from the market.

Since then, although mortgage rates have been normalising, house prices have been hurt by rising interest rates from the Bank of England, sluggish economic growth, falling real wages and soft consumer confidence. Many would be buyers are holding off in anticipation that inflation, house prices and mortgage rates will cool further this year, helping the market to become more affordable and enticing buyers back.”

Moralising from GBNews !

But then Starmer has provided them with an open goal hasn't he ?

When I read the first OliverEagleton article, and then the book, I thought

” Conservative HQ will be over the moon with this, SKS is such a deeply nasty man” .

keep it in reserve until just before the election …

Like most people are ever going to take Lee 30p Anderson seriously. You are quite entitled to dislike Starmer but please keep it serious.

Well it at least backs up what I said yesterday, Labour will offer trans people a better deal than the Tories do.

One thing some people seem to forget at times is that being in government gives you quite a lot more opportunity to set the agenda.

Just people by their actions, not their words. Currently Labour have in their party an MP that endorses the view that trans people are terrorists and haven't even rebuked her.

I currently don't trust Starmer not to introduce S28, but for trans people. And nor do a lot of trans people themselves.

It's nothing to do with Lee, it's the videos of him supporting Corbyn and then backstabbing him .

Most people don't like Corbyn, their reaction will be somewhere between disinterest and actually thinking "good on Starmer".

In any case, almost everybody in the Tories supported Johnson before backstabbing him - so they really aren't in a position to take the moral high ground here.

I think you'll find most people don't even think about Corbyn, unless he's being splashed all over the news.
