Morning refit

Last month I was waiting at the GP's, a minority were masking and a newcomer took off her mask after seeing most people didn't have them. Ten days later most did have them, and a couple of newcomers hastily put on masks they'd had in their pockets before entering ...

I fully admit I am biased, but a totally embarrassing showing from Sunak at PMQs today.

Sunak’s wealth isn’t an image problem for voters – except when he refuses to talk about it
Sunak isn’t in politics for the money

Behr isn't the first person to make this assumption, for which there is no evidence afaics.

The one thing we know about the very, very rich is that they rarely/never stop wanting more, that's why they're rich in the first place. The only justification for saying Sunak is an exception is the fact that he's gone into politics?

What if he's just decided to, in effect, cut out the middleman? Instead of acting in the best interests of whoever's shoving money at the tories, you can just act in your own financial interest?

Or to put it another way, he could have been the person shovelling money to the tories, but why be beholden to someone else if your own family has wealth you can work with?

German band Lord of the Lost very kindly present us with "Blood and Glitter". The song is somewhat Lordy style (remember Finland 2006?) while the band attempt an updated Marc Bolan/Ziggy Stardust aesthetic.

I remember running home from school to watch "Marc", which, I'm proud to say, was produced at Granada studios in Manchester. Also produced at said studios were Granda Reports (featuring Mr Tony Wilson), Coronation Street and the Beatles' first TV performance.

Those were the days (my friend).

Going back, briefly, to the task at hand (Blood and Glitter):

Clanger rating:
Was it fun: it was another I had to cut short
Was it dancey: no
What would Terry have said about it: Something short and sardonic.

Regrettably that isn't the first time a non-white politician has been misnamed, as both Sadiq Khan and Anas Sarwar can testify.

(Sky actually managed to caption the latter as "Aamir Ahwaz" somehow, who knows why)
