Don't really want to be "that guy", but Cohen really *was* on the left once - he had a big turnaround in the 2003-05 period.

(intriguingly it was Iraq that did it, he repeatedly critiqued the previous military action in Afghanistan that had rather more public support)

I'm old enough to recall when Tories ripped the proverbial out of Ed M for his "these strikes are wrong" thing (OK, it was just a tad excruciating)

Our current PM matches that on close to a daily basis.
