Yes, I just saw that ^^^ - shocked I was.

So...quite a number of people queried Matt Goodwin's 'professor for more than 20 years' nonsense' - including someone who put it under his "Ask me a question - anything you like" tweet the other day.

And to find his answer? Subscribe!

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

I see that the Daily Mash is now making you subscribe if you have reached your "monthly limit" of stories. Not impressed tbh.

So, the Tories have totally taken Labour's legs out from under them, by agreeing to pay rises for public sector workers. Small catch, that they're wayyyyy below inflation and have to come from existing budgets.

Still makes them look more generous, to the 'man in the street'

Nah, not really. Even the news channels are rubbishing it. And most of the unions look like they are carrying on their industrial action.

Plus, must have missed when Labour (even the dreaded RR) said they WOULDN'T give the public sector a pay rise.

(as opposed to the usual "fiscal rules/don't do hypotheticals" guff)

Well, Reeves spends an awful lot of words not saying "yes" or "no", so I guess they've got plausible deniability. She did imply that there wouldn't be anything unless the economy was growing (not looking like that'll happen any time soon) and it would have to conform to their arbitrary rules they've imposed on themselves.

"This tweet is unavailable".

On the subject of stuff not appearing tonight, Question Time has started its summer break for anybody who was still wondering.

Apparently Wooton is unwell, so not on TV, and the poster has taken down the tweet.

Went to a gig tonight to see a band 16 year old me liked. It doesn't matter who it was. What was important was I was watching a group of guys in their late fifties playing to an audience of similar age while in my head I was still young and horrified at the decrepit state of these aged wrecks. All the while glaring enviously at those who'd managed to get seats because my legs were hurting from standing for too long.
