This explains why sirens are going off where my sister lives, in Israel

A big failure of Israeli intelligence, which has a good reputation.

Netanyahu dicking about making pro-Putin noises almost certainly hasn't helped.

That picture of an Israeli general being dragged away in his underwear is rather apt given the humiliation the IDF have just suffered being caught with their pants down.

Unfortunately we all know what's coming next and it's going to be horrific, some of the videos circulating are bad enough as it is.

What Hamas have achieved is literally incredible. Israeli's are shocked to the core and Netanyahu has been made to look like a fool, but to what end? There's only going to be one response to this.

Yeah, they are going to be brutal in response and this time at least Israel can claim actual justification for it.

Bignames include you too rfm to mastodon , but I wonder what proportion of people have taken the plunge, and effort ?

I basically use it for reading initial posters , such as deepti gurdasani , and rarely go on into the welter of comments downthread .

So I really do avoid the garbage !

Posting once every few weeks, the last number of likes I had shrank mysteriously! from 49 to 33 now settled to 57,

As if I cared 🙂

PS Having other shit to do I'll go on till it collapses and I no longer see the few thou people I find useful

It's like they're trying to lose votes.

I read 'if it threatened to breach her fiscal rules' and thought, who does she think she is?

Similar to Sunak & Hunt cancelling HS2 on a whim.

Well, I'm not usually very good at predicting things but I got Scotland's rugby union hopes being crushed by Ireland spot on. Not just crushed but trampled underfoot then shat on.

Them with their feckin leprechauns and shamrocks, looking all smug.

We'll see who's laughing when I raise an army of Fomorians and seize their cattle.

I don't think we want to discuss this here but this thread seems a good summing up of where we are.

The human race really doesn't deserve this planet.

Sad news from the West I'm afraid .

Ephie had been perked up by steroids last week and for a couple of days was posting as she used to do when some of us 'met' her on CiF around the year 2010

Then she went downhill on Friday night with fever and chest problems, and from yesterday PM is now covid-positive in hospital .

I don't know if she picked it up in hospital on her chemo visits, but it appears most of the staff were following the No-masking Herd Agenda, as here and in any countries ... before they began reversing it!

My local hospitals in Granville/Avranches have just U-turned . On Friday .

I had Ireland winning, but only by 8 points on the predictor I play. I didn't expect them to go full Conan on Scotland.

Its the fairly customary "Iron Chancellor" briefing, whatever she says now I am sure she will be just a bit more flexible in government.

At no point, in her entire political career, has Reeves indicated she will be 'flexible' over anything - remember her claiming Labour would be tougher on cutting the benefits bill than the Tories, or that "Labour isn't the party of people on benefits", back in 2015/6? I have seen nothing different in her attitude since then.

And when the country is crying out for investment, when the government could do a hell of a lot to inject growth into the economy, by commissioning projects to both makes peoples lives easier and create jobs, both directly and indirectly, saying that you're not going to spend anything before there is growth is both insane from a economic perspective, it also discourages people from hoping Labour will actually make any material change and possibly voting for them.

Careful about any information you see pushed on Twitter, regarding the situation in Israel. Particularly if it's endorsed by Elon himself

So...Braverman is using a video posted by Rachel Riley to crack down on support for Hamas - an organisation that is already proscribed in the UK. Awesome
