Quite amazing that that Mr Corbyn is allowed to continue with his hate speech --

Starmer would also allow low-quality green belt such as scrubland and car parks to be released for development. The party has branded the areas “grey belt” and will specify that half of homes built are to be sold at affordable price.
The designation of scrubland as 'low quality' is going to upset the environmentalists, it may be low quality in terms of it's amenity value for us, but the wildlife doesn't agree. Very valuable habitat.

Well, one can only hope that Labour people are listening.

It seems pretty clear this week's announcements have been some time in the making, so it is possible they may have been.

Greetings,

Long time no speak. Lots happened in my life and major changes since I last posted on this forum. I've often thought of you all though.

Anyway, I just thought I'd take a peek and see what you all make of Keir Starmer and his speech today. Amazed I was able to still log in.

It all seems very quiet, are you all totally underwhelmed or just chewing it over?

Bright blessings

Hi there, his speech wasn't that bad. Even for critics, there was surely a fair amount to distinguish what he is offering from the Tories.

Hi there.

Maybe we're beyond taking any notice of any politician's speech, after 13 years of tory talk and no delivery, we can't remember what it's like to have a govt that tells us it'll do something (positive) and then actually does it.

AFAICS Labour aren't going to deliver anything if they flatly refuse to spend any money.
